Description
I had this song written and asked sonnyjim to give me some 'sonny' for the FX
he came up with the outro and fx durring the tune...very cool and pro,his tracks where an inspiration!
I know there are some very human moments in here, rhythms, vocals and guitar mixing, but due to a slow mac and even slower GB software I must let this go/there is much i would like to fix but the ideas I think are cool.
there my be mchanges but i want to get back into MJin so i post as is for comments...wha u dink
thanks
a trip for your listing pleasure
peace

Lyrics
Life’s a Rollercoaster
Man, I want to go on that Roller coaster
Woh , its way up there
Anybody want to go on a roller coaster ride
I guess I’ll go all by myself

Going thru the gateway of cyclone,…. Hoping for fate to say it al right

Life on a silver platter,….. I don’t thing so

Lives a rollercoaster,…. here we go

Life’s a rollercoaster, turning up and down

Some turns are minor, and some major hills come around

Climbing on up now, …Clicketty clack

Can’t see around the nest turning the track

But I can see better days
Gonna come my way
I can see sunny skies
I see the light in your eyes……..

Going thru the gateway of things to come,…. Hoping for fate to say it al right

Life on a silver platter,….. I don’t thing so

Lives a rollercoaster,…. here we go

A turn is getting closer, Hold on tight

We’re going for a ride now, I hope this thing is all right

Lifes a rollercoaster
Turning us around
No slowing down now
This thing is going down

the guitar and piano blend so much that is even hard to here the guitar in the mix

It's good
to have you back Tim:)

I like the melody of this. Your voice is cool and here you let loose the way I like to hear it. There are much happening in here... just like in someones life... I especially found your guitar soloing nice. Very cool sound, and laid-back feel.

Hello Thor
I was comfortable with this vocal part.
I just never was happy with the arrangement...
Tobin made some great suggestions in the next comment....or...maybe a bridge would have cinched it up.
Thanks for your complementary words bout my guitar
your encouragement is very helpful.../...it all sounds like what 'I' expect from 'me', and sometimes i want something else to come out but it doesn't???
thats what collabs are 4 i guess
great to hear from u
peace friend

Nice collab
Nice use of strings, cool arrangement - kudos to both you and sonnyjim. I especially like the theatrical elements in the intro, the sound effects, etc. Gave the whole thing a cinematic feel. My only suggestion would be a break somewhere in the middle, a return to the intro feel, that provided a moment/variation of insight to add on more layer; the song part seemed a little long to me. Nice track, nice collab.

Hey Tobin
Thanks for u'r insights. I enjoyed the tracks from sonnyjim. He was on my mind for this tune, for some reason, so i reached out to him and he responded very quickly with some very cool tracks. I may have shelved this project otherwise.
In so many ways macjams is so very cool. Inspirational.
Tobin thanks for giving a listen. I know you have great listening ears, therefor your comments are very helpful. You r so right about the tune being to long because it doesn't go back down to the intro mood.
your good.
thanks bro
peace

At last
It seems ages since I heard one of your great vocals and this song is a really good vehicle for it.... love the arrangement, the FX is so natural it just seems part of the orchestra; nice lyrics and as I said...... a good original sounding song..... Love it, regards M

Concept
I like this, the guitar work it is tight.
The roller coaster theme took me by surprise when the song started, but the it matches the lyrics with no doubt.

My 2 cents:
The production itself is so solid and feels very confident throughout. I love the bass. It fits so well into the whole and provides such a rich backdrop to it all. I also very much like your vocal. You have a pleasant, rich voice, ... oh, that guitar bridge is niiiiice! ... I'm glad I can understand the lyrics, too. Too often, composers just bury them, but you have them up front sufficiently... This is a very cool song and I enjoyed listening to it very much, indeed.
Peace.
Paul

Really glad to see this up!
Beautiful stuff! This sounds so good. A hybrid of styles filtered through your loose, personal lens. Plus, that guitar solo is a gem: GREAT use of delay! I'm very glad to have been a part of this one, and I hope we can do more.
Thanks for involving me in this, Tim.

Highest regards,

SJ

Good to hear you, Tim
I love the instrumentation, effects, lyrics, vocals, and style of this song. It's great through headphones- I can hear all the parts separated and appreciate each one alone, as well as integrated. The ending is surreal and very effective!

An overcast day at the carnival
I was waiting for some kind of fast, steady tech-pop beat. But it's a very cloudy day as I listen to this and this tune fits my day, and an overcast day at the carnival very well. That mood and the colloquial lyrics are, for me - get ready for an oldie - in the mold of Bob Welch's early Fleetwood Mac tune, "Bermuda Triangle." Any criticism? Oh, let's see... the acoustic guitar pops up a bit in laces like 2:10 to 2:30, might use a little tidying on the level, or maybe some reverb to blend it with the rest of the mix. But I'm cool with it. A plus: I like that your metaphoric lyrics & vox message aren't overdone; they're observational/descriptive vs. preachy.
