Description
A little ditty due to nice weather.

Hope you are well everybody! I've had almost no activity here on MJ for quite some time now. But I often think of you, and I listen to your tunes on my iPod.

Sounds great, Johannes...

Yes
That is really easy travelling. And with an instrument between $15 and $ 20 you don't have to be too afraid of things happening...

Mahalo
That means "thanks" in Hawaiian. I have a red Mahalo uke that looks like your yellow one, but unfortunately it is almost impossible to tune. I detect you might have the same problem with yours, but as they say, it's close enough for jazz. And this is a real jazzy number, Very good, sir! You have extra nimble fingers to navigate all those tiny frets!

Cori Ander said 133 days ago (July 15th, 2009)
Mahalo
Yes, it is probably the same one. My daughter has a red and my son has a green Mahalo.
Mahalo for the information, didn't know how to say thanks in Hawaiian :-)

All right, Johannes...
You manage to make more harmonically sophisticated music on a ukulele than most people I've run across... And it's very good to see you back here...

I'm also envious of the H2. All these folks are making great recordings with them... Very lifelike, lots of air and natural tone...

Check out these ukes on a friend of mine's website:

http://www.ukulelenoir.com/pages/ukuleles.html

He's very, very, very into the ukulele....

Hi Ed
Great to hear from you!

I can surely recommend the H2. The sound is decent for such a small and relatively inexpensive device. But most because it is so easy to use. Just pick it out, press a few buttons and you are recording. I've had lots of use for it when jammin with friends. Since you can use four mikes pointed in four directions you just put it in the middle of the jam and everything is neatly picked up. No disturbing preparation. It is also good for picking up sounds in your environment. Sounds that can be used in musical compositions - if you have the time (which I don't).

Nice ukuleles. Does he craft these ukuleles himself? I surely would like one like this:

Ed Hannifin said 133 days ago (July 15th, 2009)
Hope this reply thing works...
As far as I know, Robert doesn't craft any ukes himself, but he has commissioned a few. If you look at that uke page again and go to the second page you'll see a ukulele that was built right down the road here in Littleton by Julius Borges, a pretty well known luthier. Notice how many of the ukes on the page belong to Robert. That pineapple one you like belongs to Greg Hawkes from The Cars...

Honey, I Shrunk The Guitar?
How can you play anything on that tiny fretboard, Johannes?

Nice to hear you again. Boogie on, my friend. ;)

Thnx a lot Joe
Strangely enough it's not that hard to play on the tiny fretboard. The strings are not so much closer together than a guitar. And the frets are as narrow as a guitar around seventh fret.
Elevator_Funk said 134 days ago (July 14th, 2009)
Hey!!
excellent playing! I dig it. I think that's the same uke I bought my 4 year old nephew. I need to get one for myself. I also see you're another H2 user, thats why this track sounds so clear. Thanks for posting.
