Description

this is the third song from the rpm challenge
http://www.rpmchallenge.com/
i recorded this about half way through the month. it was probably when i first felt like i was running out of ideas. the chord progression cam first and the words were pieced together from notes and journals i was keepingduring the month. i am working on a companion video fro this as well. as soon as we get past the indi arts festival this week end i will start back to work on finishing it.

by the way, the name of this cd that i created is"food and Shelter"

Better man.
The second vocal works very well for me, sustaining the high/harmony notes here and there. Everything about your interior-space delivery just breathes its way through the song. Maybe for that reason I don't need the drums/percussion as high as they are, even though they're really not too high for me to appreciate the song as a whole. You're a better man than I for even attempting the rpm challenge. I hope to hear you on NPR next time they showcase some of the season's best.

Love the storytelling lyrics you write with such depth and emotion (I'm sure you could write a good novel too) and the musical accompaniment to your breathy, personal sounding vocals is spot on. I particularly liked the accordion touch in this and the harmonies, cheers M

It's good to see you posting on MacJams again, Tim. I have missed your presence.

For a man that was running out of ideas (for the song challenge), this song seems remarkably complete. And full. Your latest material seems bigger in its spaciousness ... entirely occupying the soundtrack.

I always feel the weight of the world in your songs ("you ask me how i am doing/and i say im doing my best"), but at the same time there seems to be an acceptance with the less than perfect world you are inhabiting. Maybe love, love, love will make things alright? One can hope so.
