Description
Not sure what "genre" this is... I set out to write this song about "living in the present" but it ended up more of a "get past the past" message for aging Jesus-freaks like me. Whatever the message you hear, I think the music turned out pretty good - GarageBand strikes again!

Lyrics
So many faces known to me
They seem to change so suddenly
Thru the years it’s hard to see
The changes on the way.
Then suddenly I realize
That thru another person’s eyes
The signs of time - the time that flies
are fading all away.
All there is is now, and the promise of tomorrow
And the memories of all the yesterdays gone by
All we have is now, and we fall into the future
From the pinnacle of yesterdays piled high
But only in our memories can we discover how
To realize the truth at last: that all there is is now.
And so, I go on every day
I can’t go any other way!
And stay as young as I can stay
while life speeds on ahead
I see myself as I was then,
And still remember “way back when”
I wish those days would come again,
but tomorrow comes instead.
All there is is now, and the promise of tomorrow
And the memories of all the yesterdays gone by
All we have is now, and we fall into the future
From the pinnacle of yesterdays piled high
But only in our memories can we discover how
To realize the truth at last: that all there is is now.
They seem to change so suddenly
Thru the years it’s hard to see
The changes on the way.
Then suddenly I realize
That thru another person’s eyes
The signs of time - the time that flies
are fading all away.
All there is is now, and the promise of tomorrow
And the memories of all the yesterdays gone by
All we have is now, and we fall into the future
From the pinnacle of yesterdays piled high
But only in our memories can we discover how
To realize the truth at last: that all there is is now.
And so, I go on every day
I can’t go any other way!
And stay as young as I can stay

And still remember “way back when”

All there is is now, and the promise of tomorrow
And the memories of all the yesterdays gone by
All we have is now, and we fall into the future

Very nice changes and melody. I really like the arrangement and time (6/8?) signature. Especially like the end of the chorus "but only in our memories..." and the chord changes here. Smooth production, too. Really enjoyable post.
