Description
And now for something completely different... Chicago, If, 3DN, and if I had a voice like David Clayton Thomas this would be a contender, I think. There is an acoustic guitar in there, and me ol' Les Paul through my little Peavey Backstage. Aside from a few vocal tracks, everything else is GarageBand sequencing. I had great fun on this one!

Lyrics
I saw the outside world and
It’s a very scary place
With all that grand illusion
It’s hard to see a trace
Of hope and Holy Spirit
Behind each passing face
Silly human, silly human race.

I put bars on the windows to keep the world outside.
I put bars on the windows ‘cause I just want to hide.
I put bars on the windows; I’m keepin’ to myself.
I put bars on the windows (I don’t) want nobody else… in here.

And I can’t stand to wander
through this great big lonely town
Without a mask to hide me
and my eyes upon the ground
It’s hard to make it quiet
When I can’t locate the sound
I hear those voices, hear them all around.

I put bars on the windows to keep the world outside.
I put bars on the windows ‘cause I just want to hide.
I put bars on the windows; I’m keepin’ to myself.
I put bars on the windows (I don’t) want nobody else… in here.

And I can’t help but wonder
how all this came to be;
How anyone can make it
and pretend that they are free.
I gotta get back in now...
it’s an emergency
I’m only human, silly human — me.

I put bars on the windows to keep the world outside.
I put bars on the windows ‘cause I just want to hide.
I put bars on the windows; I’m keepin’ to myself.
I put bars on the windows (I don’t) want nobody else… in here.

Whoa man this is Killer David
Talk about the Chicago sound, you got it. You're right, this could be a contended.

Great chorus and some killer lyrics throughout. The LP sounds wonderful through that little Peavey Backstage, and the rest of the backtracks are to die for.

Fantastic song, mix, lyrics, and production. Definitely one of your best I've heard so far my friend.

Just a folk singer. Well - mostly a folk singer, but I like to try just about every style a middle-class white guy from Mid-Michigan can sincerely try. Be sure to check out my "band" — I used to play R&R with these guys back in the 70s, but now we'... [see more]
