Nicely done!
As someone who has been around the bluegrass/fiiddle tune on guitar for quite a while, I would say this is a very nice rendition. It's been my experience that in the folk tradition, these songs always vary a note or two or sometimes even a bridge. The names seem to vary for the same song also with all these things depending on who or where you learned it from. Doc Watson is my source on these things and this is close enough to call it Beaumont Rag. What's really important is that you played it well and undoubtedly had fun doing it which is what it is all about.

Sounds great....
...a very fun, saloon-esque piano break there.... Very crisp guitar sound... are you combining a mic with a pick-up?

It's great hearing you play this stuff. Really makes my day...
pablatone said 2986 days ago (July 22nd, 2009)
thanks Ed
the guitar is a taylor 710 with a fishman matrix system on it, I got it used so I'm not sure if its a p.u./mic or what, but I'm very impressed with it as well.

about 2007 I received the gift of a presonus firepod. That launched me back into a love of music that I hadn't realized I'd been missing. Since then I've been writing and learning the craft of recording and mixing. I am now in two acoustic groups-... [see more]
