Description
this is my final mix of this song. it is a heavy rock song, kind of an invocation of AIC, one of my favorite bands from the NW. They were heavy, dark, and never compromised. i hope you like.
A huge thank you to Chris Cihon for laying down a sweltering solo, amidst his change over to the blues. My gratitude does not do justice in written word.
Thanks to Jason Whitman for the inspiration during the writing process for this song. I took a couple of his throw away riffs and as per my usual, turned them evil. Thanks for being there for me, Jay.

Lyrics, Allen Dean, 2009.
Music, Allen Dean, Jason Whitman, 2009

Turning
Feel the wind across my face.
Flying
Never getting anyplace.
Falling
Weightless outer space.
Soaring
Miles and miles to your embrace.

All my evilness in back of me.
Lies and hypocrites are all I see.

Staring
Empty faces interchange.
Shining
Like tiny window panes.
Falling
Upward in the strange.
Turning
Into a man shortchanged.

All my evilness in front of me.
Lies and eyes that look, but cannot see.

I'm not gonna die, or take an eye for an eye, it's just you and I on this carousel.
I just wanna fly, into your cloudy sky, enjoy the ride on this carousel.

It's not the destination, but the road beneath our feet, that gives us strength to carry on.
It's not the journey, but the people that we meet, that spin you round and round and on and on.
~(solo)~
I'm not gonna die, or take an eye for an eye, it's just you and I on this carousel.
I just wanna fly into your cloudy sky, enjoy the ride on this carousel.

wow
Great production Allen. So much metal these days is so overcompressed it actually makes my stomach hurt. This here is perfect. Love the song too. Interesting lyrics with a great Layne Staleyesque delivery. The guitars remind me of Zakk Wylde too. Comparisons aside though, this is unmistakably Allen Dean in the zone.

Oh, man, that is a killer. Everything is working to full effect. Vocals are dead on and your backing guitar sounds great. Chris does not disappoint. Lordy. Nice creepy kid picture too.

Spinning Round And Round
Dang Allen, you and Chris score some major damage with this track!! The crunching, grinding guitars blended with that intense vocal track does create a spinning round and round sensation in my imagination as I listen to this cranked up on my headphones! The Production sounds like it is Blu-Ray ready. With your permission first, I'm gonna have to share this with my Facebook friends!!

Allen, this grabbed
me from the very first note. Powerful. Great lyrics/fantastic vocal and superb musicianship and production.
Chris' solo is indeed magnificent.
One more for my collection. Thanks.

thats really great hard rock - the mix between the heavy guitar and the bass is perfect.

thank you
the mix, for me, is the most fun part. i love soloing out each individual track, giving it its own little something, then blending it with its brothers and sisters..... i wrestled with the bass on this song, because my last tune, Mr. Nice Guy was intentionally bass heavy, and some out here in maclams land thought it a little too bass heavy.
in the past, when i worked with GB, i would take two tracks, eq them completely different, then blend the two tones together, to give it a bright, but not too brassy tone.
now, with LE, i can use one track. in addition, my Line6 podx3 live has several great bass tone built in, and the ability to take and blend two completely different amp setups together, giving me what i was doing in GB all along.
so now, just one track, and i mess with the volume all the way until i get to the final bounce....
thanks for listening, and i hope more people take a listen to your incredible music. i simply loved it.

simple
and straight to the point. i am glad you took the time to listen. it seems i am not as popular as i once was, mainly due to the fact i have been away for some time with school and health issues. i hope to do more music in the near future, and when it is posted, i hope you will continue to show me your respect, support, and the great honor of a listen. thanks always

As I said when I first heard it..
F%$K YA!! This has a "deep groove" that is (no pun intended..) infectious. I loved it from the first time I heard it. Thanks for including the solo in the final mix bro.

You frickin' ROCK!!!

my god pal.....
as always, a job well done. it seems when the two of us make noise, it is good noise. i must admit, i recorded the harmonies behind your solo, so i guess you could say it is a dual solo!
in any event, anything i can do for you do not hesitate to let me in on it.

Unmistakable Alice in Chains vibe
and I LOVE that band. The vocs and harmonies are very cool. Blistering guitar. Excellent tune.
