Description
I wrote this song for the daughter (15 years old) whose mother committed suicide. The daughter's father left her when he got divorced several years ago. I was a friend of her mother.

Lyrics
"For You Who Were Left Alone"

Don't cry, young girl.
Sad days will soon end.
The Dream you two had someday,
You can manage to reach it even by yourself.

Your life is surely full of meetings
That are waiting for you, though now lonely.
It's not only you who are alone.
It's not only you.

Stand up, tough you,
Keeping the precious memories in your heart.
Never forget the words that you were told
By the person who you loved.

Your future is surely full of dreams
That are waiting for you, though now you feel empty.

Your life is surely full of meetings
That are waiting for you, though now lonely.
It's not only you who are alone.
It's not only you.

I'm not fluent in English, so I couldn't translate into casual, smooth English. Would someone rewrite in poetic English?

Domo arigato gozai masu!
I really appriciate your listen and kind words.
My friend died suddenly last November. I was shocked and overwhelmed by the sense of loss. But now, I do believe that she is still alive in the heart of all people left behind, of course including me. So, I would have many people listen to this song. She is probably pleased with that.
Oh well, I am glad you liked the song anyway. Thank you!

Hajimemashite! (Nice to meet you!)
I sincerely appreciate your listen and sweet words. I also feel quite encouraged by your comment.
Honestly, I'm not so good at singing, but in this song I tried to sing with my whole heart. It is the daughter who deserves grieving most. So, I wanted to encourage her.
Thanks for listening.
(Please excuse me if I use strange or impolite English.)

Jo-zu desu...
Your English translation (and your writing here) is very good! Your meaning gets across very well, and the English is easy to understand and read. Maybe a few little changes here and there... but you did a great job!

And yes, her memory and smile will be held in our hearts, now that we have heard the song. Arigatou Gozaimasu!

And if you have a little time, I would be very interested in your comments on any of my music too :-)

ttfn,
Drakonis

Ureshii desu!
Thank you very much, Drakonis! I'm very grad you commend on my English and I'm greatly encouraged. But I don't understand enough the nuance and usage of similar words yet. So I will always welcome your advice.

And your Japanese! It's surprising for me to find appropriate Japanese in English sentences. It makes me feel close to you.

And I will surely comment on your music later.

Thank you!

Such a grass roots feel if that makes any sense. If the Pouges were japanese this is what they would sound like. I cant understand but I did try to follow the english lyrics. Really good song I enjoyed it thanks!

I sincerely appreciate your listen and comment. It's interesting for me that my song has a kind of grass roots feel. Unfortunately I don't know the Pouges, but I'd like to listen to their music if I have a chance.
And I am glad you liked the song anyway. Thank you!

Such a sad song
How we all feel for people alone, but for a 15 year old to be in such a position. My heart goes out to her.... and to you.
I think your English is just fine, doesn't need to be casual or smooth, from the heart, just as it is.

Thanks Robert
Thank you very much for your listen and the very kind words of support.
My friend's death was a terrible shock to me, but more than that, my heart was broken when I imagined how desperate her daughter was. I am praying that she can live toughly and get her own happiness.
I appreciate your kind regard and the remark about my English anyway.
Thank you!

I sincerely appreciate your listen and comment. I am very grateful for your encouraging words and glad you liked this.
The daughter now lives in distant place from my house, so I can do almost nothing for her. I can only prey for her.
Thank you for listening!
