Henry's Dream

Description
I don't know where to place this, genre wise. Experimental? Well, isn't all music an experiment. I'd like to see a cover all "electronica" genre here really.

Anyway, this one starts off rather slowly and melancholic, but develops around a motif which you can hear early on. It's quite a happy tune, I think, despite the introduction.

Made using the Crystal, Albino, Zebra and Logic's Sculpture [what a beast!] synths and some tender loving care. I hope you can have a listen and maybe enjoy.

Thanks!

Another film. I love the way the music interacts with the visuals!

lovely music...
Very relaxing and laid back for the mind to rest and wander. It nicely moves along with subtle changes that very much keep drawing me in. Thanks for sharing this one... a pleasant surprise for a Monday morning...

Thanks Jack
This one grew on me, the more I worked on it. Still not too sure about the mix though. The "piano" may be a bit piercing. I have a dodgy ear right now.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Davey......
I think this is an enjoyable piece. It should be 'electronica' as you say. One day we might be able to choose that genre, one day....

You're putting some great music together.

Take care.

Paul

Many thanks Paul.
Yes, you'd think including an "electronica" genre would be easy, wouldn't you? Some electronic stuff simply won't fit into the catergories that are available.

Anyway - a minor gripe really.

Many thanks for your support.

Likewise
How do you guys write lyrics? And sing so well? I'm listening right now to "Heart Cries" [beautiful btw] and I couldn't do that. We do what we do, I guess!

Many thanks for stopping by and commenting!

who is Henry?
I really really love the thoughtful introduction moving slowly into the happier, faster moving part of the tune. This is a beautiful piece. Someday I'm going to figure out how to use all these synth programs. Until then I'll just enjoy all your hard work. The modulations in here are perfectly done. Very nice piece.

Who is Henry?
Well, he is George really, my father. I lost him two months ago, so I did this for him. There. I've said it now.

Thanks Kassia. Oh, and the synths play themselves. You just have to figure how to tweak them!

Thanks Mo
If I could sing, write lyrics and play guitar as well as you, then I suspect I wouldn't be doing this. Swings and roundabouts isn't it? Like I said above, we do what we do and that's it. I appreciate you kind words Mo, thanks again.

Henke's Dream
as much as anyone's ;-) I love this! You really get sweet sounding stuff out of your synths! Espescially your various glockenspiel are truely heavenly. A wee bit strange ending perhaps, but maybe I will understand it after a few more listenings.

So sorry about you dad, this is a great tribute to him for sure. Take care!

/Henke

P.S. I managed to make a Tune Toys song after all - thanks to you! (Summer 09)

Weather not too dreamy though eh? I bet it's the same at the other end of the East Lancs Road. :-)

Never been to Whitby btw, but your tune is excellent.

Thanks again.

Genres matter little to me really. It's all just music at the end of the day, isn't it?

Dreamy
Really a beautiful piece, Dava. Some unconventional chord changes keep us guessing throughout. The beginning is dark and deep. I like the ending. And the film worked well. Excellent.

I listened and I watched,
and I was drawn into this piece. The music is soothing, and in some ways makes my mind go to the calm after a storm, when the rain drops are sporadic as they slow down to just occasional droplets.

The movie was a trip to watch as the music played, quite a wonderful experience actually.

Very cool bit of TLC on this too Dave, and it shows. Excellent work my friend.
