Description

I got a bass recently so i decided to make a few tunes inspired by it.
Been playing around with reverbs and delay, not sure if i have completely overdone it or not, because i do not have monitors at present. Sounds better in my phones, but even then i am not happy with the bass sound this end, i started to play around with logic bass amps, compression and the verb, it might have sounded better before with just the bass coming into the mac via the M audio device. So, if you have any comments about the overall sound and anything that could be improved please let me know, gently.

Inspired by a comment by Reggie and his arrange page from Sheep.

Many thanks to John Libby for his help on this track. Once again he comes up with the goods. He send me all the piano and synth parts and wonderful they are too. Arise sir John.

	Nothing like a new instrument to give you inspiration. I'll have to check it out in the studio later but listening through cheap headphones right now the bass sounds pretty good to me. 	verb its like cowbell, you can never have too much :-) Steve, don't know if this is tweaked a little differently than the last version I caught but it sounds doubly cool. You da man. You put your photographic sense for "place" into your music and I always enjoy that. The reverb sounds great on my system, it's just right for this type of piece. The jazzy inflections are cool, the occasional "off" sound is kind of expected for the experimental jazz, not sure if you meant that but it works out well in that middle section. I could take it or leave it on that part. While it happens a lot in jazz recordings I never learned to love it! But after a few listens I get more used to it and actually probably would prefer the song with that sound for an offset from the more predictable funk lines. Enjoyed.

A quiet duel
Really enjoyed the tentative back and forth on this. Lots of space -- almost an ambient flavor, jazz-tinged, switching over to a cool groove in the last third or so. You guys excel at creating room for the music to breathe, setting a mood and not over cluttering it. Bass sounds fine. Great to hear that addition. And the definitive test in my book -- it sounds better and better with repeated listens. A real statement, subtle though it may be. Loved it.

	spiced chi Right from the beginning I was drawn in by the trip-hop beats. The deep bass sound, almost like sub-bass, is pretty nice, perhaps the track overall good use some brightening. Have you ever used the "exciter" plug-in? That usually helps. Cool track though, like David Gilmour jamming with DJ Shadow. Check out my latest song called Malphunktion
