Description
Just trying out my new Maton (I love it!) and a new recording setup.
I really would love some advice on recording the guitar sound as I know nothing about acoustics.

Also, I've posted the video here:

Thanks
thanks as always for listening in, Feter. I'm glad you like the tone of the Maton - it was about time I spent the money and got a really decent acoustic. Really happy so far.

that's very nice
Is that an alt tuning? The maton does sound sweet, I've never heard of that brand, is it a custom built instrument?
As far as recording guitar goes, I like to put a mic 6" away from the bridge and another 6" away fro the 14th fret. Small diaphram condensors seem to work best but the shure SM57 has aid down countless brilliant tracks.

thanks
just the standard tuning EADGBE, but I'll be messing around with different tunings in the coming weeks and trying out some slide. any suggestions? On this tune I just used the SM58 for vocals and the built-in mic for the guitar.

terrific
great phrasing man, always appreciate it when somebody takes the time to work the lyrics into the music. your voice is sweet too, great rich falsetto, way up there but never thin, gutsy and emotive all at once i dig it. DL'd.

pure
Dan,
Love the new guitar man. Awesome tone! Really full and warm. It reminds me of my Taylor 814ce actually, the "expression" pickups in it are great and sound a lot like your Maton's. Touching song. Really illuminating to see you singing live. I had always wondered how you got that great falsetto and now I know,...that's just YOU! Really happy you are so tech savvy to do the video thing. It makes listening to your stuff even more fun.
