Description
Russ (Mowguy3) posted a song titled "Dreams" in early June http://www.macjams.com/song/53407. I loved it when I heard it. Such honest lyrics. I asked him if I could cover it and change it around a little and he gave me permission. (His version is stellar, by the way.)
It was quite an honor to this for a fellow Macjammer and I hope to do a few more in the future. I really hope I didn't butcher this one. It may sound a bit different than Mowguy 3's version, but the lyrics are still there.
Russ, a special thanks to you. I truly hope you enjoy this version. Great lyrics my friend. (I didn't know what genre to post this one under?)

So you passed on your dreams
And you did all the things that society said you should.
Happy it seems
In a relative way.
But I look in your eyes
Deep and shallow behind the smile that you always wear
The white picket fence wasn't part of your dreams.
Chorus:
When you look back in time
Tell me what do you see?
Is it filled with regret
Or is full and complete?
Because it's never too late
For your soul to be free.
Life at times is hard enough
Make your way through
Hold on to your dreams.
Now the shadows are full
And your days go quickly and your nights aren't long enough.
The days of your youth are farther away.
The memories you hold
are the smiles that you wear at night when you fall asleep.
The passion inside still begs to be free.
Chorus
So the choices you've made
Brought you down life's long and narrow street.
Second guessing remains
But the chapter's complete.
Sometimes we don't know
No matter how hard or how much we stop and think
Could it be the fence was your dream?
So you passed on your dreams
And you did all the things that society said you should.
Happy it seems
In a relative way.
But I look in your eyes
Deep and shallow behind the smile that you always wear
The white picket fence wasn't part of your dreams.
Chorus:
