Cry On Me

Description
Friend of mine was having a really bad year a while back. I wrote a song for her which expresses my available as a shoulder to cry on. I sort of turned an odd phrase here maybe - Cry On Me instead of just Cry On My Shoulder. Artistic license, I guess?

Lyrics
David McCord Cry On Me

Do I see something in your eye
Hey, it looks like you’re about to cry
Come on, site down, and tell me why
You can cry on me.
You can cry on me.

Hey, it’s OK, we’ve all been there
And anything you want to share,
Or if it’s just too much to bear
You can cry on me.
You can cry on me.

(You know you can) cry on me,
And you can rely on me.
When the world just leaves you colder
You can always use my shoulder
(You know you can) cry on me

There’s nothing clever I can say
To make you smile and save the day
(But I’m) right here for you anyway
You can cry on me.
You can cry on me.

If you need to let it go
Or keep it deep inside
I’ll be here to help you through it all
Hey, everybody’s cried…

(You know you can) cry on me,
(You can even) lie to me
When the world just leaves you colder
You can always use my shoulder
(You know you can) cry on me.

Cry On Me
Right to the point lyric. Realy like the vocals (as usual) they just sound more up front. Another fine post. Thanks.

David,
Great guitar -- nicely spread in the soundspace. Great voice. The performance delivers the love sentiment well. Nice job. An enjoyable listen.

Cry On Me
beautiful song, not at all the same song but in the same vein to me as a wonderful Don McLean song: 'Winterwood'

Thanks for the comparisson
Feels nice to be compared to him, one of my early influences. Winterwood is a wonderful song - and Don's "Empty Chairs" makes me cry every time. Glad you enjoyed it.

Just a folk singer. Well - mostly a folk singer, but I like to try just about every style a middle-class white guy from Mid-Michigan can sincerely try. Be sure to check out my "band" — I used to play R&R with these guys back in the 70s, but now we'... [see more]
