Assyrian Empire

Description
I made this a while ago, with the hope of creating the most cliche epic sound I could! I hope it's enjoyed. :)

I was actually trying to do a mock-up of another song, and then I got fidgety, so it inspired me to make this. I've started making maybe 20 pieces over the past 2 months, all of which are unfinished, so I decided to finally finish something!

climax
this would be great as music for a montage scene where, very quickly, the inevitable event that the movie's been leading up to finally happens.

thanks

Re: SmokeyVW
This song was inspired by a trailer type song, so it's very fitting that you mention a montage. :) Thanks for your take on it!

Assyrian Empire
As the title let me sit tight ..the tense of the
strings and the directing of it made it all so
brilliant and so perfect ...short but so enough
and strong ..thnx alot for sharin !!!!

Re: Feter
Thanks Feter! The song I was inspired by had a slightly different, but similar title. That's where the idea for the name came from, and I have to say, it's better than most of my titles. :D

Good to know that short in this case, is enough. Even if I wanted to, I'm not sure I could expand beyond what it is. Which is fine with me!

Very dramatic music with lots of dynamics, and tension. Definitely creates a mood. Nice work - thanks for sharing your empire with us.

Re: Sigmund
Thanks so much! Glad to hear you found it dramatic with tension. I've listened to this so many times, I've lost any ability to see it from another perspective. Maybe in 50 years, I can hear it like it's new.

I'm very happy to share it. I look forward to hearing where your music takes me. ;)

Cool!
I dig cinematic soundtracks also. I think Smokey hit the proverbial nail on the head. When I hear this I keep picturing somebody hanging off a cliff being saved in some dramatic fashion. Well done! Short, but I have no problem with short bits of music.

Re: MannequinRaces
Awesome! I'm going back to listen with that in mind. I always like hearing different takes on the music. Opens my eyes to things I miss. Thanks.

Well done
I like your straightforward description! And it's far from easy to do even that - 'the most cliche epic sound' - and you pull it off. You've got a very good sound library and obviously know how to use it. In my headphones the drums don't quite provide enough to balance the high strings, but the open chord structure allows for a prolonged build-up, really...well done! And 20 pieces unfinished - excellent - means you can always revisit an idea when you need it for a project and finalize it.

Re: Parichayaka
Yep. The description is exactly how I approached this; good to know I pulled it off. I'm actually surprised at how well it turned out (though I will always think I can do better). I don't think I know how to use the sound library I have quite yet, but it's been fun learning. I'm not someone who enjoys the technical aspects of MIDI music, so that's partly why I have the sound library I do; it sounds pretty darn good with not much tweaking.

Thanks for the note about the drums; I spent a while EQing, and playing around with volume of the different sections and compression. In the end, I went back to the beginning; no EQ, no effects. Mixing is my weak point, so I hope to improve.

I look forward to someday posting a few of those unfinished works! Thanks for listening!

I'm a student filmmaker and I love soundtracks and trailer music. I'm not experienced at composing at all, but I am learning, and would like to know what people think about what I've made so far. I'm currently a year and a half into piano lessons, ... [see more]
