Description
At long last, my new CD with my wife Eshinee is finished. When we started it, we never thought it would be a "side project" for five years! I've been wanting to share a track or two here for months, but in my travels throughout Botswana, I haven't had Internet access that I haven't had to pay time and bandwidth on for two years. Imagine, paying $3 just to upload a song, eh?
"And Haul and Haul" is inspired by traditional maritime music. It's a silly song about a spendthrift captain who hires an incompetent crew to save money.
This song is from our CD "Songs From Dark Waters," which contains music from and inspired by the Neverwinter Nights 2 campaign Dark Waters, written by Adam Miller. I had the geek-fun task of creating the folk music of the imaginary world of the game. The style is closely informed by the folk music of the Canadian maritimes (Eshinee's homeland; one of my academic interests as an ethnomusicologist).
For the month of August, we are offering the whole CD free to download on SoundClick. I hope you MacJammers won't mind clicking over there to grab the other songs. It gets us ratings on that site, which might sell us some eCDs in September.
