Description
I was going to do a new version of this very old song of mine but while going through some old cassettes I came across this version recorded in about 1986/87 during a band rehearsal. I originally wrote it back in about 1979 while I was an art student. It was my birthday and my class mates had bought me a cheap plastic, childs toy banjo. We instantly formed a band called the Sh*ts and I wrote this little ditty during a still life class and we spent the rest of the lesson singing it.
Roll on seven or eight years and the song was revived and polished to be performed by my then band 'Compact And Bijou'. This is the version I present to you.
All credit goes to the band members for this arrangement and I dedicate it to my brother who is not so well at the moment.
Band members 1986
Florence Wilson Vocals and keyboards
Nick Hynes (my bro', get well soon) Guitar
Me Bass, New vocals.
Dave Nixon Drums
Sorry about the quality but it is a very old cassette recorded live on old analogue equipment. I re-recorded the vocals as the originals by Flo were a little lost. I doubled up the track and mixed each one with a different EQ setting to try and bring out the vocals and guitar. Finally mastering it . I hope you all like it.
Ps. The picture is of my brother with his daughter.

Lyrics
Sit in a little box, move down the street
Senses are alert protecting form invasion
body presence getting close move to avoid
It isn't I don't like you, it's just absurd
Chorus
But Public transport reminds of you
I'm going to leave it all
Public transport reminds me of you
Get my self a car
Rain on my window blurs my world
I can't see clearly now from the top deck
It seems so long ago can't comprehend
Why is the question look to a friend
But public transport reminds me of you
I feel so alone
Public Transport reminds me of you
I wish I were.......
Break
Public transport
What's my name
Public Transport
What's my identity
Public transport
Where do I stand
Public transport
I'm going insane
Senses are alert protecting form invasion
body presence getting close move to avoid
It isn't I don't like you, it's just absurd
Chorus
But Public transport reminds of you
I'm going to leave it all
Public transport reminds me of you

by the quality of its recording, which you just proved. Very charming - even if I'd need those lyrics to get a clue what it is about ;-)
Hope your brother gets well soon!
