Time's Fabric

Description
The original working title was 'Weaving the Fabric of Time' but I've decided to cut it down a little. The mix is a 5 minute tour through an alternate dimension, where the listener drifts along, not really aware of time or the 'wider world' and so, subjectively, a world, solar system or universe could be born and indeed die whilst they are immersed.

I suppose what I'm trying to say/depict is that time is relative.

As always, I am interested in any views/comments/observations/thoughts...

Nice Reinholtian sawtooth sweeps
here and there sprinkled with flutish sparkles and a really big sawing machine. All set in space, of course. And that time is relative is evident from the fact that almost 5 minutes cannot have passed since I clicked Play..!

Enjoyed!

Hi Henke.....
Thanks for your kind comments. Your observations are all correct. The instruments used were indeed SAWs and SuperSaws, all mixed using Zebra 2. I think that the 'sparklies' were done with the free Kontakt 3 player.

I'm glad that the time went by quickly whilst you were listening. It's the effect that I hoped listeners would have.

Take care.

interesting
was going to say that some beats might fit well with this, but you are trying to make a point of relative time - so maybe rhythm would go against that. nice sounds

Hi Ste......
You're correct. Beats would make the piece too relative, instead of floating around the beats. Another version could support the said beats but would be aimed at a different mind-scape-meld. Stay tuned.

Take care.

Hi Daniel.......
I'm trying to evolve but feel the comfort zone of my previous works keeps my panic level down when I try something slightly different.

We'll see what appears next, probably Industrial Ambient, in line with my 'Another Day in Space' theme.

It's good to see you now have a musical presence with Alchymical Muse. Good luck guys!!

Take care.

I get the feeling your music would be at home
In a sci fi series of some kind. Great suspensefulness. Nice job, enjoyed it.

Hi Crissew....
Yeah....I'm currently going through a space faize!! as opposed to phase. One day I'll get better.

Hopefully you don't become too bored listening to any of my stuff.

I am behind on listening to other Macjammers but i'll be listening to your uploads in the next day or so.

Take care.

Time is certainly relative
I'm set in motion from the first chord. I have always loved space music and synths, so this goes down really well indeed. You have a great gift for timing and the morphing of tonality to build interest and evolve the piece. We can all take a page from your playbook on how to write good ambient.

I love the theme too which touches on alternate forms of space and therefore consciousness.

Cool stuff indeed,
Doug

Hi Doug.....
I always appreciate when you stop by and leave some thoughts.

My vision of life encompasses everything I know and I'm learning as I live. This gives me tremendous scope to include all sorts of things in all sorts of ways, to add (hopefully) to the listeners perspective and experience whilst they dwell for a while within my soundscapes.

Thanks for the kind words. They spur me on more than you know.

Take care.

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]
