Description

I've been replacing windows at my house. And the old windows have been stacking up in the garage. In order to get rid of them I have been dismantling and breaking the glass in order to fit into the trash.

It got me to thinking of how many generations have looked out and in through those windows for 100 years. Mirrors are no different, you see, or don't, what is there or imagine what could be.

	Glass wow, for some reason when the vocals came in they were completely unexpected. I was totally lost in that great guitar opening with the shaker and synths. Nice stuff. Another excellent tune. hey man this one has a very relaxed feel, laid way back but very moody, very cinematic, which is cool because watching a movie is a lot like looking in a mirror too, in that we interpret it the way that we want to see ourselves as related to it. gee thanks professor right anyway cool tune, acoustic is mixed just right, love it when i can hear each individual string in a strum, really nice. cool photo too...

Love your work
The sounds of your guitar work is always outstanding - at once straightforward and accessible, yet always mysterious, as if there is some secret effect lurking in the shadows of the strings. At times I find myself thinking, when searching for the right guitar sound for a song, "I wonder what Vic Holman would use here." (That said, my songs never come out sounding like your wonderful productions.)

What else I particularly like about your music is your openness to finding song-material anywhere and everywhere, real or imagined. This piece, derived from the task of replacing house windows, is a perfect example. The idea simply sparkles like it's been wiped with Windex - there's so many different ways it could go. (I was expecting it to be about people looking in/looking out.) This openness keeps you putting up some of the most-original material on this site. In my slow, roundabout way, I find myself, over time, returning to listen to your material again and again.

One thought on this song. You write you have been breaking the glass to put it in the trash. That breaking must be noisy. Some of that noise must be really interesting. I kind of thought some of that breakage - perhaps as percussion, or maybe just a dramatic moment of crash - might make it into the soundtrack : )
