I'm particularly
fond of the intro. What amazing, wonderful harmonies. Wish they would keep unfolding on and on.

Marvelous music.

Thanks for
sharing
Mark !

As you said, thus one really carries a dreamy feel. Nice chord progression and guitar playing. Great effort in the middle of the night. Cheers / Mike

Road less travelled
Very nice! I like the eerie, "road less travelled" feel to this… This would also work really well in a bossa nova treatment. Fantastic piece!

Actually
I was playing around with the jazz standard "You Don't Know What Love is" as a bossa nova and I discovered some interesting chords in the key of F minor (not a usual favorite guitar key) and it mutated into this. Thanks for checking out my song!

I dig
I dig the character of this tune .. it has a very different and interesting mood .. not hard to imagine this as a dreamt song.

Maybe it has a great future. Remember that 'Yesterday' came to life this way .. Paul waking up with the melody in his head.

I don't think that my song will be as successful as Yesterday, but one can only hope!

Beautiful progressions and variations, Mark. Perfect feel for the cool shade of my room vs the heat of sunlight outside. Thanks for the treat.

A little darker than a lot of the stuff I've heard from you
but nonetheless excellent.

Really interesting progressions and lovely clean, inventive playing.

Another little gem.

Thanks

Very pretty...
...chiming, lyrical and very slow melody... Continued resonant I-can't-believe-it's-not-large-heavy-and-hollow-body tone... I think the 18 inch speaker you installed in your DA-5 is helping you here...

Unfortunately we caught you this time, because this actually came from someone ELSE'S dream, which is against the strict MacJams by-laws...

Ya have to dream your own dreams, Mark. It's called 'artistic integrity'...

Anyway, very skillful use of chords with numbers here. Even I can hear that... Maybe that's my problem... I don't dream in numbers... Oh well...

I would
suggest that instead of counting sheep when you go to sleep, count chord symbols.Like this-Esus2,Esus4,E6,E7,E9,E11,E13.

My prescription:
Get less sleep, Mark. What you are able to create when half awake is really wonderful. Yes...A dream-like quality to the whole opening...and then you open your eyes a little and bring out those very cool harmonic shifts that you somehow seem to invent out of fresh air. What a thoroughly pleasant composition this is. Your skill with your instrument is truly awesome. (I like Clark's idea of bossa nova, too. You DO have elements of that poking through now and again.) Regardless, this is just so cool. I'm never (ever!) disappointed when I hear one of your delightful numbers.)
Peace.
Paul

Thanks Paul
Sometimes the harmonic shifts are the result of playing a wrong chord by mistake and trying to get out of it! I very much appreciate your comments.

Dreams
Dreams with a jazz feel; and quite a different approach to that you usually take, with this slow waltz-like ponderous opening, into that other Ibstrat style and sound we've come to admire. wonderfully relaxing Mark, regards M

Fine choice of chords, maybe even a bit dark then changing expressively. Then it wonders on. Nice.

Okay, I can hear your dream Mark
This has a surreal quality to it. The structure is very different in places than what would be considered a "Normal" progression.

No matter, it's still quite good. Your playing skills really shine in this one my friend. So does you sense of composition.

Very good listen Mark and very original. Love it,

Ed

Vision & chops - again, always.
Haha! This tune is even better than your note in the Description box -and THAT is a classic! Can't you ever just slack-off? You're ruining the curve! I love your vision and chops, which seem to come easy as I listen to the relaxed air you seem to exude. What you do is beyond my comprehension, but this one at the same time feels as down to earth as the photo you've chosen as your song art.
