Erratica

Description
I stole the opening guitar bit from my earlier "Son of Erratic," and slowed it down by two. Although the original version of this had nothing to do with my "erratic" series (except for that), I figured that maybe it should, so I injected much erraticism. It's certainly not as prettified as its ancestors, but it is definitely erratic enough to qualify. Features my foghorn guitar setting, jingle bells, slipshod playing, sub bass, weirdnesses, cymbal crashes, sorta-harmony guitar part, no cowbell, the Zebra PunchBlaster, loudness, lots o' work --- phew. Might sound better with headphones.

As always, comments, critiques, complaints, and criticisms are welcomed.

From the inner mind
Hi, Vic. Thanks much for giving this a listen. I used a lot of effects, or maybe they used me. Hard to keep this one under control.

Reg
the one man band. The guitar orchestra is superbly conducted and weaved into you musical web seamlessly. Everything sounds in place and at the correct volumes as one would expect from the perfectionist. Man, you are a gifted musician your skills of production are always on show and make me wonder. All your tunes can never be played just the one time. We have put in the application for a knighthood, just waiting for liz to get back to me, god bless her....
God save the Reg.

Production
Well, always a crapshoot. Actually, I spent a ridiculous amount of time on the arrangement, not so much on the production. Even now, though, I can hear many places where things didn't work the way I intended. I guess that's always going to be a problem. If I waited, I would never post anything. Thanks, Steve, and give my regards to Liz.

I used to love
the Outer Limits. Reggie your songs are always such a musical adventure and this one is no different. The drums are great and as you say "slipshod" playing, well that's just not true.

Still my all-time favorite TV show
There was a local station here that ran the entire series a few years back, followed by The Prisoner, another classic. I gobbled it up. Thanks Z. Your comments and musical views are important to me.

What?
No cowbell? Sadly lacking without.

Seriously. I have no idea how much time you spend in putting these epics together, or how much coffee you must have to drink. But it's time well spent. Cut back on the coffee though.

Good cowbellists
are not that easy to come by, let me tell you. I work on songs the way I read. Always a stack of books on the night stand, always five or six songs in the making. Chip, chip away. I don't know how long this one took. Months of on and off. I know it was a lot of hours. Was it worth it? Oh, I'm pretty happy with it, though it has a few problems still. Coffee is good staple for me. I'm of Scandinavian descent.

Heavy, Man!
Rock (instrumental) at its best! At least to my ears. You always get such sweet sound out of your gear, guitars, drums, cowbe.. oh, sorry, jingle bells etc etc! And that's after listening on computer speakers! I guess this kind of stuff really needs a decent stereo or, hm, a stadium or something.. :-)

Stay well. (No real worries about too much coffee if you take it through a straw, is there?)

Ambient listeners
Well, I didn't expect you and dava to approve of all this racket, not to try to pigeonhole either of you, of course. My privilege. Thanks for the compliment on the sounds. You'll be pleased to know that one of my future works has a cowbell part. I am jazzed. The straw. Yes, it's true. But it in no way impedes by daily consumption.

Reggie
what a production - the long intro, the Drums, rhytm changes are totally professional. i like the sound of your guitar with this strong sustain - is thtis only boss gt-8? you have created a special genre in music. reggie style. Great.

Hi, Wummimann
Reggie style. Hmmm. Well, it's an acquired taste I suppose. Heh. Yeah, that's the GT-8. I have relied on it quite a bit. I still can't make good chunky power chord backing sounds like you do. I'll have to work on that. Thanks, friend.

Powerful
Reggie, this is so good. Loving the composition, guitar tones, bass and especially the fantastic drums. Needs a bit of cowbell here and there though.
Great stuff. Downloaded. Thanks.

I love the old Outer Limits series...
And I love this trippy tuneage as well! Awesome beginning! As for the rest, I never knew coffee through a straw could be so sonically satisfying! Ha ha...

Love your so-called "slipshod playing" throughout Duane. My fave tune by you so far dude!

Be well friend!

Foghorns!
I have GOT to add this foghorn to my sonic arsenal. This is killer stuff! You such a great sound out of your guitar. You get a really rich, full sound out of LE7! Hard to believe. The controlled feedback is amazing.

Oh, you know, the usual thing. Boy meets guitar. Boy falls in love with guitar. Familiarity and contempt set in. Boy leaves guitar. New guitar comes into boy's life. The cycle continues. Sigh ... ah, love. A young and devastatingly charm... [see more]
