Description
Okay, so first of all, I swear that the title goes with the lyrics! So next, this is a bit of a classical-pop-rock song I made last fall. Since then it's been practically completely. I just have to record the vocals, which will require a good mic... *sigh* Well, enjoy for now!

Lyrics
Please tell me what I can do
Cuz I don't want no one new
And I won't ever hurt you
Cuz I swear I'll never leave you

Many times I broke your heart
Cuz I wasn't all that smart
Threw everything good away
And now I have something to say

chorus:
I was stupid
Such a damn fool
Wish I never ever threw it all away
And I miss you
More than ever
And I understand if you won't take me back

Sometimes I don't wanna see
Otherwise depressed I'll be
I've made too many mistakes
Never again I'll slam the brakes

I will always be jealous
When you choose her and not us
So I'll just be here waiting
'Til that far day when we're dating

You can get by
with a pretty inexpensive mic like a SM-57 (made by Shure). You can get these mics for under 50 used on ebay and they are the best bang for the buck mic you can buy. This song has potential. I would experiment with the MIDI tones you are using on this song. If you are using garageband, it is pretty easy to do. I am hearing something warmer for the main keyboard part (maybe the garageband grand piano or something like that). Good start!!

Thanks
I'll be sure to check that out as soon as I get the chance! That would definitely be good for me. And I think actually I'm currently using on of the GB grand pianos. Could be the punchy one but I don't remember... Would you suggest a different one?

Nice one
The piano line is simple yet effective, although I think you could've changed it up a bit during that first minute.
I like the way you introduce various new sounds and they create a pretty well balanced background. I would maybe bring the volume of the synth sweep pad down a bit, as it almost distracts a bit from the rest of the ensemble.

When the aggressive drums (maybe a bit too aggressive?) come in, I think it really needs some low end, i.e. bass or bass pads.

Finally I think you should rather fade out the final chord rather than letting it cut off like that.

But all in all a nice piece of music.

Thanks
for the input! It's good to get other people's input, especially people with more music background than those of some friends and family. I'll try taking some of your advice and will see how it goes! Overall, thanks!

Nice tune Jessica
wow, lots of tunes, hmmm, think about loading up song by song, not all at once. so you will get much more attention on a tune.
sorry cris but I don`t think the sm-57 is a good buy because it`s a mic for live performances not for homerecording.

I use an Audio Technica 3035 and I`m very glad with it!!!

Welcome at MJ Jessica!!

I agree
that the audio technica is much better if you can afford 200 bucks. I think CFG is a high schooler though

I think it's better to upload your songs with vocals, so they may be listenable and rearrange your song with a better quality quality.

I like the way this builds. The theme's present throughout...nice variations.

Sennheiser makes a nice vox mic...as does Shure of course. $100. A vocal will sound nice with this. You can get by for practice using the built in on the computer. Does the trick nicely...

Damn nice tune!
How'd I not hear this until now? (Sometimes it's so hard to keep up...)

Wonderful composition. Looking forward to the vocals!

Be well!
