Open Thoughts (2003)

Description
This is the very first complete song I did in 2003 with my good friend R.C. Brown. He has more of a harder edge concerning music, so that's why I presented him with this tune then. I always liked this tune, but the recording could have been better. And the drum sound was just OK.

I'm going to keep them coming here for a while. But, the "real" lavalamp is still alive and well and has many little treats in store for us in the near future.

In the meantime...

Lyrics
Open Thoughts

I’ve seen everything
From a view
That has gone

A bucket full of living
Again will take a fall

Crashing with bitter shame
Upon the freezing ground
Solidifying
Makes a familiar sound

It will be strange
To rearranged
Upon the haze
Of a broken sky

Broken Sky

Am I closing my mind with an open thought?
Cold and true
What I gotta do

Time is nonsense
Distance is the enemy
I said, time is nonsense
Distance in the enemy

Broken Sky

I’ve seen everything….

Great
Dark and moody - reminds me of 'The God Machine' especially their 2nd album. Not so sure about the ending but love it otherwise. Downloaded, thanks.

Just ok?
That drum sound is perfect. Especially in the verse. Robotic and industrial. Moves the lyric along with heaps of intensity. Good enough for an A side. More of your rainbow and sunshine lyrics :).

I like it recorded as it is, relentless and dark. That was an awesome debut.

4 Track Cassette days
Reminds me of 1991 when me and my friend got a 4 track tascam and committed to tape some of themost horrible music ever (we were still learning)...at least you guys recorded real music. Great job on the production as well..so what was this recorded on?

Alrighty then Dave...
Although I agree with you re the production, this is still a great rocker. Vocals are awesome, and the arrangement is at once OMINOUS and cool!

Enjoyed!

Be well friend!
