Description

The young novices in procession up the mountain are chanting joyfully as they go to seek wisdom from the old man of the mountain. But, is it his wisdom that they find, or is it the perils and beauties of the journey, and indeed, the majesty of the mountain itself that speaks to them? Does the experience change them? Most of all did they arrive at the mountain exactly at twelve midnight and so self righteous that they didn't cheat like those other novices that came up a day early . . . er, ah, but that's another story, sorry.

Thanks. The bass line is an interesting story. I share the "studio" with my Son-in-law. He was finishing up showing a friend how to use Logic. I was going to start LIOLI9. I said "do you want me to save this?" He says "No, do whatever you want with it". So I dragged out loop 43 to see what it sounded like and presto It almost exactly matched his bass line. So I fiddled it up and used it.

Challenges like this are really fun. A few months ago someone did "The Front Porch" where he had a guitar part and let folks write whatever kind of song using that part. The different styles were amazing. To me they are jump starts on getting involved and I love them. I always know that there will be lots of different music and everyone will listen and comment on each other's stuff. You know, now you have me looking for a really good quality bag pipe sound. If I find it, I'll send it your way. I also want to find Irish whistles and I can't seem to. What program do you use for writing? GB, Logic?

Magic Boy
When I was a kid I remember seeing this bizarre Japanese animated film back in the early sixties, a young kid learns magic and goes against a sorceress in a strange, surreal battle that eventually reduces her to a shivering skeleton. Bugger weird shit, it was... havent seen it since for about forty years, and just recently discovered it on Youtube.

This music brings me back to that dangerous, frightening and balls-to-the-wall epic sense of mystery and wonder, triumph and fear.

Consider youself a sick demented genius with extra genius for epic sweeps of grandeur from a frikkin dance loop.

	Slashh First in is the choir, next the drums, then the bass, then the loop chugging underneath. I transposed it down two octaves and of course it matches the tempo of the song.
