My Boy Liolipop [LIOLI 9]

Description
I had a go! Just used the loop mostly, with some added bass and trance midi drum loops cut up. This has taken forever to put together, but I've enjoyed doing it. I've put it in the "experimental" genre, but I'd prefer to call it "electronica" really.

Sorry about the title. Anyone remember Millie?

Thanks
I hate that there's no "electronica" genre here. An awful lot of music posted up, it seems to me, doesn't fit into any of the handles provided. Gripe gripe...

Thanks again!

You cannot go wrong with...
... synths and pitch changes. If there were a Doofy Seal of Approval™ (I just trademarked it :P), this tune would have it.

nice track
figured you'd come up with something cool for this one. like that "popcorn" sound you used on the synth at the intro. this is a great use of the loop (completely with key changes, nice). excellent work at taming the beast. did i mention there are some really nice breakdowns here?

I've got to tell you that "wack" hasn't been used here on Merseyside since the days of Merseybeat - a long time ago! But I'm glad you dropped by and listened.

Interesting tune. I do Remember Millie. She was a 'one hit wonder' no? I can't remember what else she did but the one song. Anyway, you did get some interesting sounds going here. I like it.

Fun title
And electronica by all means!

As always I really enjoy your music, challenge or not. Except for a nice overall sound, I like the way you play with the dynamics in this one.

Stay well!

I love the way it begins Dave.
There's no doubt the loop is there, it's stares out at you in the intro bold as all hell.

Then when you get into the meat of this one it goes straight out to the dance floor. I guess that's where it's supposed to be, huh ?

Very cool track Dave.

Hi Dave.....
This is a fine piece of Electronica. I have sat here entranced, listening to all th nuances and sounds that you've used to put this together.

I remember Milly very well. She came to our local working mens club many years ago to perform.

Excellent work my friend.

Take care.

MILLIE SMALL THE BLUE BEAT GIRL!
Ive got My Boy Lolipop in my iPod. Used to have it on a beat-to-crap 45rpm record, what a great tune.

Now yours? Very cool. Love the drifts back and forth, candy-sweet smacks of sound that seem to slip back and forth into more complex patterns. I particularly get cranked around 2:55..... some seriously cool stuff going on.

Very sweet, slick and tight.

Millioli Loved the song
always love a liolinnuendo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pqcpt-BKZBM) in music.

This is a sweet entry, lush, sweeping synths, and nice modulation and voice changes. Great way to dress this up and let it glide around town.

ttfn,
Drakonis

rotating
like how you modulate up a 4th - that works nicely for this loop. and how you split up the loop into some separate motifs.

it feels like it's slowly rotating around and around in a, well, a loop.

thanks

MBL
The breaks are effective here, any riff needs help after a minute or two, you did a great job of supporting the thing throughout. Great job!

Great bass sound
This is a great example of how a cheesy dance loop can be turned in to a solid dance track. Great job!

No one mentioned the bass! I know a guy who plays bass. Very, very well in fact. [I won't name drop the band he is in!] He told me a few years ago that you shouldn't really hear bass. It should just be there. I try to do that in my tunes, but find bass to be incredibly difficult to do, so I'm pleased you mentioned the bass in this one. Cheers!

You didn't try to hide the loop here! Which is cool, because you complemented it so well. You got me to enjoy this loop again, which says a lot, considering I was sick of it by now. :)

I got really sick of hearing the bloody thing as I drifted off to sleep! It certainly does give it a new lease of life, listening to how others have manipulated it, yes. God help any new GB user who posts his/her first tune though, and Dance Floor Pattern no43 has been used!

Thanks for stopping by.
