Description

Here's my little LIOLI #9 composition. It's my first LIOLI and I had a lot of fun doing it.

I gave it the title Hello, Newman because something about it, the arpeggio mostly, reminded me of Thomas Newman's (one of my faves) film music from the early 80s. Not comparing myself to him at all, certainly, but it just gave me that vibe. Plus, I figured it would make a nice tribute to someone I admire.:)

	hey nice use of delay to mix up that loop. i like all of the pads that sound slightly dissonant as well, and that accordion part is great. i could see this being performed by a one man band on a subway platform in Paris. thanks for the mini-vacation. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, I rather liked when the loop sort of melted into the mix and disappeared. I guess it's because I've always felt like "loop" was a dirty word. When I first started at iComp I posted two loop-only pieces and I took the criticism pretty hard. From then on a strove to keep loop use to a minimum. Nice for a change to have loop use encouraged.:)
