Description
I had no clue about this looping and glueing and after a really frustrating afternoon of mind bending temper tantrums and accidentally deleted tracks wetc I still don't have a clue.So if this isn't how it's supposed to be ...well nuts....I just took the basic loop gave it another voice and played over the top ....and lo this poo happened. I'm not proud..and I will have a go at anything...but I am hearing far more sophisticated Liolis and wonder ,how do I get it so wrong ? ?

what?
there was supposed to be thought and planning that went into this? I was happy just to hack away and let the pieces fall as they may... just park yours next to mine and you will be an instant star!!! I think I should have accidently deleted my entire thing but yours is cool... maybe I just needed a temper tantrum

Actually I did
lose it a couple of times ,which isn't big and it's not clever, but Midi fights back and I believe Compooters have a sadistic street to them......Thanks for the listen, how is Juan?

There is no wrong Chris
Only different. And this is different for sure. It almost sounds like a set of bagpipes are playing the loop. Very original sounding entry in the challenge my friend. Came out rather good if you ask me.

Kudos Chris

It was your
P Note to me about a year ago that encouraged me to have a stab at this... I am glad I did, I may have produced something as loopy as the loopiest thing ever but I have a hankering now to have a more thoughtful go.Thanks again Ed,your encouragment is always apt and appreciated. Chris

You did well!!
There is no right or wrong with LIOLI. That's the beauty of the challenge. Some build on the loop. Some mask it. Some ignore it. Some throw it in a blender.

Ok... so now, a real comment. This was enjoyable. The loop actually worked as a background to your playing. I'd say you hit the mark with flying colors. :)

Stephen
the drums I played as an audio file on the keys of the keyboard, hence the slightly off but 'realistic' feel to them and Bagpipes...I don't know they just seemed so wrong that I had to do them and apparently it worked....doh!

I had no
idea what I was doing and probably picked the most unsuitable and inappropriate instrument to simulate and then a pipe and drum band ....I have no clue why,but I am pleased that I did....

"and lo this poo happened" you're killing me. loops are kind of weird to work with at first. i never touched them until my first LIOLI and I remember going "WTF is happening here?" i actually like the crazy vibe thats going on here. the drums and the bagpipes(?) are just freaky style and I can get into it.

I am
quietly grateful for a lot of positive feedback on this ,my first attempt at looping...it is not as easy as falling off a log and I confess to not appreciating some peoples earlier efforts. But I have travelled the LIOLI 9 List of participants and I am gobsmacked at the diverse productions that are on offer.

When did
ELP ever play bagpipes? ? not even falsies like these...AC/DC did but not ELP.....I have no idea what inspired this ...unless it was some one saying that they had Brian Thomson struggling with his drum.......hmmmm subliminal suggestions eh?

Well
there wasn't a genre I could think of in a hurry and Rangers didn't seem to fit either, that said I am humbled by the reaction that this is getting....and I only had a bit of fun...there was some serious eyebugging ,vein throbbing moments of pure hate in there too Midi is a different realm and it has wee nasty stingy buggy things.........Cheers

Pipes!
Brilliant. Think you could work on the snares though. Lot of clipping? This is a really cool take on the loop. Bagpipes - excellent!

drone
turning the loop into a drone is a great idea. it works for the bagpipes really well. i must admit, i didn't understand the drums tho, but that's OK.

thanks

Ah ,the drums,
well being unfamiliar with MIDI and the chop and shut nature of it I could not get the drums I wanted in MIDI as a simple snare and bass.So I played the drums int a WAV or Audio file and then blended them in on an Audio recording of the MIDI and AUdio playing together.I have since discovered Channel 10 and the way to play drums on the compooter..........and that I can now do the same as Audio with MIDI.....
