Description
Three of the four members of Aphrodisiac wrote songs for the group but most of the stuff we did was written by the lead singer. I met him through an ad in the paper. We were each looking to start our own band but decided to join forces. I thought his songs were very good and didn't have a problem performing them. He was a very prolithic songwriter (much faster than me) and we eventually found ourselves in an Elton John and Bernie Taupin-type situation. Me=words, he=music. It worked fine -- for a while. Unfortunately he was not always reciprocal in terms of supporting the songs of other members. Back during those days I reluctant to put my songs and myself out there and let his selfish behavior slide way longer than I should have for the sake of "the band." I used to say showing people my songs is like showing them my penis: it's very personal so not everyone is going to get the pleasure.
Anywho, this is one of the few songs I penned for the band that ended up being a mainstay of the Aphrodisiac set list. And yes it was written on a rainy day. I think I'm the only human who loves rainy days. They always make me feel so creative.
Like I said on the band profile page, this is an mp3 of a cassette, of a 14 year old VHS tape. Do not expect anything near quality sound. Again -- as I stated eariler, I'm posting these because the songs are good -- not the recordings.
Lastly, this is a Metal song so naturally it goes to 11. Enjoy.

Lyrics
Gloomy Daze
Words and music by Demetrius P. Hill ©1993 all rights reserved
Sunshine, always ruins, cloudy days
all night, wishin' for a, dullen haze
bright light, has a power, make you sad
it's alright, if gloomy days, make you glad
hear the sound, on the roof, falling rain
drizzle all, over my, window pane
when it pours, humidity, fills the air
puddles form, bugs drown, and I don't care
but I love my gloomy daze
won't you come outside and play?
just another gloomy daze
I don't need no sun today
showers come, water pours, everywhere
smell the fog, on the streets, and in the air
wipers off! lights out! faster now
I can't see, it's kinda neat, anyhow
but I love my gloomy daze
need another bucket full of rain
can't you love a gloomy daze?
we wont' get no cancer today
(solo)
but I love my gloomy daze
won't you come outside and play?
just another gloomy daze
We don't need no sun today!
