Description
This is a jazzy song that tells the story of a couple who gets separated by unidentified raiders. It is meant to be performed at a western honkey-tonk bar in the middle of the desert. The song features my friend on clarinet. Enjoy, and as always, comments are appreciated

Lyrics
In a far off lonesome desert town
In the burning summer heat,
Lived two lovers, poor, yet happily
In a little wooden house.
In a full moon summer night so late,
The cacti fully bloomed,
Came the raiders for the first time
And they split the lovers apart.
He was taken far away,
Hours across the river,
To the land of the others
Where none could ever go.
But her heart, it burned too much each day
It was shattered, torn apart.
So she said she'd do whatever it takes
To see her love again.
The villagers thought that she was crazy
When she told them of her plan.
She'd cross the river to that land
Where none could ever go.
But she went anyways,
And a journey it truly was,
Running and hiding every day
From who knows what she found.
A couple years apart,
It did nothing to their love.
For when she finally found him,
They were happy once again.
And then, she was spotted
Sitting next to him.
And she was taken, thrown to jail
Apart from him for life.

I'll have to say liked the arrangement, the piano playing was good and the clarinet I liked. The lyrics and vocals are a little fairy-tailish for a jazz fusion song maybe - but what do I know? I can't sing very well so I don't very often.
