Lyrics
Chorus:
I can't go on now
Everybody tells me I'm insane.
I can't go on now
Whatever I do it's still the same.

I can't go on now
Everywhere I go she's not there.
I can't go on now
Can;t seem to shake this love affair.

v-1
Just flippin' through the channels,
my mind in a maze, I'm spinning out.
Staring at my closet, half empty staring back
since she's moved out.
And now that you mention it, you're right,
I haven't got a clue.
Maybe it was something I said to cause this
whole thing to fall through.

[chorus]
[break]

Friends tell me that it's only natural that
I'm down and feeling low.
They say, "Hey man, what's your problem?
Get over it let her go."
"There's always someone else to come along,
so get back in the game."
I think they could be right--I could be wrong,
Or just to blame.

[chorus]

first of all Jack, you're not insane, second, thanks for let me be a part of the mop top dream.

Jack you came up with a spicey tune and vocals, and Ed, man, you delivered the goods on the bass and drums.

and thanks much Vic for some absolutely great guitar playing. The Maharishi would be proud... and he's not insane either. Ed really does rip it up on bass here. It's just my joy and privilege to be on the same stage with you two.

Thanks Moviz... the song came together nicely and with Vic's Beatlesque guitars and Ed's punchy bass and drums. A lot of fun for me and a real pleasure to collaborate with these two talents.

What a hoot
That Fantasy Beatles Camp was a blast Jack, thanks for inviting me.

I love the final mix my friend, especially Vic's slide guitar. Your vocal sound really great in this, as does the whole mix.

Thanks for letting me be a part of this Jack, you and Vic are the best.

Sounds like you aced the final exam :-) Lots of big vocal hooks with Vic's trademark guitars gracing the mix. Ed's rhythm section is spot on. Kudo's to all

I'm...looking...
...ON.... now...

Sounds like you guys had fun getting this together... Vic does a good job with Georgian slide and lead figures... The rhythm section is tight...

Only thing I miss from the Beatles-y vibe is/are some multi-part/multi-person harmonies... Well done, guys...

whoa.... you are amazing.
I hadn't made that connection but it is there, isn't it? Someone else in chat mentioned "On Top Of Old Smokey" and the reoccurring chorus melody line. I hadn't thought of either.... so much there in the musical background of the mind.

We did have fun, and Vic burns up the place on guitar. And I miss the harmonies also. They may yet come... but that'll be for another version now.

Thanks Ed for taking time to visit.

Ye olde english pop song
Yes, it has an early Beatles vibe. Actually, more than that it reminds me of that Beatles spoof that Todd Rundgen did at some point.

Nice song no matter how you look at it.

thanks Vic....
I appreciate your comments, although I stopped wearing the Todd Rundgren eye makeup a while ago... ;-)

I just wanted to catch a bit of the Fab 4 vibe, which comes mainly on the heels of Vic's Harrison-like guitar work. All in all, a fun excursion into the past. So again, thanks.

Cool slide guitar Vic. Just like Harrison would have done it:) Cool Beatles vibe. I like how you sing this one Jack. Bass & drums sounds perfect and puts a head nodding groove to it.

Harrison it is...
Thor, yeah Vic nails the "George" slide guitar, doesn't he. And Ed blazes the low end with such an energetic, rocking bass. The song was an acoustic guitar and vocal in demo form... could've just gone that way, but it really seem to cry out for a band... a bit of the Beatles vibe, as you say. The key was real comfortable for me, so it felt good as I sang. Good to know you liked that also, as I don't often think of myself as having much of a singer's voice.

Thanks...

Un-Beatle-ble
Instrumentation a bit behind a veil, mostly out of the chute. Too much bass? Voice is full, distinct and authoritative. Who is "she?"

hey there...

Like it says in the song description: Vic is doing all the lead electric and slide guitar. Ed is on bass and supplies the drums. I'm singing and playing a little rhythm. Hey, I like Neil... no apologies. Vic is the original bad finger on guitar man....

Thanks for stopping in and listening... cheers.

Weren't there FOUR beatles?

Maybe if I get a minute a little harmony vocals might be appropriate.

Or is this a Ringo song?

Nice work guys

Yep, I await your vocal harmonies.

And regarding the 4 Beatles comment.... didn't we always really think in terms of 3 Beatles...
sans Ringo?

Holy Krishna!
Hey, you old coots, I'd join your club anytime (unless you'd have me as a member). And that lead guitar? Holy Krishna, Vic!

I guess i missed this one earlier but I'm glad to hear it now. Everyone's parts are nice and clear, very dynamic. Despite -- or maybe because of -- the headspace your mix affords the tracks, there's lots of neat harmonics going on. It almost feels like there's a keyboard in here.
