Lyrics
Does your heart
lie gasping
from the distance you have run?

does the cold
make you shiver
though your standing in the sun?

Does your soul
hang hollow
in the webs you have spun?

get up
reach out
move on

there is time
to return
to the place where you were whole

there is time
to return
to the lover of your soul

still your heart
listen close
find the fading light of hope

get up
reach out
move on

get up
reach out
move on

Dirge beyond
Something subconsciously full of regret and dread spins thru this. I think its in the tail of the weird vocal reverb, the way it hangs too long. Totally dig the guitar solo. Really nice, and, yes, very Floydish.

yeah, it's kinda creepy. I don't play it much, don't know that I've ever played it live.

Yep...
It passes the Floyd test...

I really like this, Paul.... The guitar tone has Gilmourish bits, but also some Neil Youngish bits in the mix, and I like that... I like the steady pulse in the drums and bass, and the acoustic strum... I also think the lyrics are strong and your singing is good.... What I like about the lyric in particular is that, while there's enough depression in there for Roger Waters to revel in, there's also a voice pointing towards a way out, hard though it may be...

thanks Ed
I definately where my influences on my sleeve. I love neil's approach to guitar solos, and I had to see Pink Floyd before I realized the brilliance of Gilmore. What a show that was- 14th row center!

Exceptionally
well crafted: lyrics are deep, playing is emotionally charged and vocal is mesmerizing.
I'd get a lighter out and wave it around but I'm afraid that I just might set my fur on fire. Chick Munk is not on the menu. ( It accidentally happened once and hair club for Chick Munks couldn't help me. I had to hide out for three months. I did get pretty good at macrame though. I made nut purses and vests for all the chicks. So it wasn't all bad. Thanks.

Tis always profitable...
to revisit the bitter herbs of the past... reminding us of our bankruptcy... and yielding greater thankfulness for His gracious gift and gifts.

Wonderful song...

about 2007 I received the gift of a presonus firepod. That launched me back into a love of music that I hadn't realized I'd been missing. Since then I've been writing and learning the craft of recording and mixing. I am now in two acoustic groups-... [see more]
