(St. Paul's) Christ the Faithful, For the Faithless

Written for St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Hartford, CT. The theme of the sermon was based on God's covenantal character, and how the New Covenant of Christ's cross is unshakable, established in the heavens, and the only sure hope for mankind. Only one Man was truly faithful unto God, and it was the man Christ Jesus, the man from Nazareth, the man from heaven. What a treasure that we have in Jesus!

Christ the Faithful for the faithless
Bore the stains of sin and death
God the Father to His children
Grants us life and peace and rest

Now forevermore we know
That before us Christ shall go
Taste and see that God is true
Once He died now lives for you.

Christ the Faithful for the faithless
Pouring out His SPirit now
Sealing our salvation surely
Granting us His grace and love

Now forevermore we see
That we live eternally
Now we see like shadows dim
Then we'll see and know with Him

Christ the Faithful for the faithless
Marking on His hands a word
Never shall I leave forsake you
Know my covenant is good

Now forevermore believe
That you can find true relief
Through the covenant of Christ
God for man and man for life.
