Description
This is the first track from my Russian History EP, which is a series of songs inspired by the history of that great nation, of which I learned much over the summer.
The style is highly technotic, taking its influences mainly from dubstep and trip hop. The bass is pretty heavy, but without a sub or good headphones you won't hear it, so make sure you plan accordingly.
ZAUM is a kind of transcendent non-language, created by Russian Futurists in the early 20th century, which the listener is meant to understand viscerally and immediately, without needing to resort to comprehension. Here I sample a reading of Kruchenykh's poem "dyr bul schyl", which is effected beyond recognition, as I think the futurists would approve.
In line with all that, this song is meant to be heard and understood as a work of art, but its meaning is intentionally opaque, because artistic Truth is not necessarily communicable.
On a side note, I made this song mostly under the influence of adderall, a (legal) amphetamine that enhances one's abilities of concentration and abstract thought but which also lends one's music a gratingly frenetic aural character. Therefore you may like to put yourself in the influence of a similar drug before listening, to get the full effect.

And this sort of music. No chemicals required.
This is seriously interesting stuff. I really wouldn't refer to dubstep and trip hop; your sense of rhythm is much more elemental, uncompromising to the sensibilities of the dance floor. The sampled poem and various strange sounds contribute to a halucinatory experience.
So how long have you been on MJ?! Don't recall ever listening to your music. I'll have to rectify that.
