One-eye, Lefty and Ginger

Description
Janosh! (Horst Eckert) wrote the children's book, One-eye, Ginger and Lefty, which was a great favourite with a class of seven year olds I taught so I wrote a song around the story (accidentally getting the robbers names in the wrong order) and we acted it out one morning in front of the school and parents.
It was one of the better ways to start a day.

Those children are all grown up now; I wonder if they remember that day? This present recording was multi-tracked some years ago on a portable Zoom machine without a child in sight.

I bet those kids
still remember you singing this. It sounds very clear. which Zoom did you use? I love the ending, too; it's funny!

I don't recall the Zoom but it was a small rectangular desk model about a foot wide with a tiny display. Not exactly pocket sized! When we bought a Mac I found GarageBand a lot easier to manage! Glad you like the song, Roxy!

Never heard of
But that's an omission I need to rectify.

Great fun, this song.

I tried to find out more about Janosh! but although he's a prolific and successful author I didn't get further than a few introductory lines on Wikipedia. Thanks for writing, Vic.

Sweet...
One-eye, Lefty and Ginger. Weren't they the ones who bought MG Rover for £10?

Seriously good kids' music.

You're right! The very same lads! Not sure I want to write a song about their later exploits though! Thanks V!

Jackdaw
... and is that a Jackdaw. I was looking at something suspiciously similar to that one at Canterbury Cathedral on Saturday.

Jackdaw
I recall as a child a friend showing me his pet Jackdaw. What amazed me was that it could talk as well as any parrot. I still wonder why such a capable and intelligent creature should, when left to its own devices, only manage a few croaks. You can't tell from the photo but they are the only birds I know which have blue eyes.
