Mean Girls

Description
Here it is, the second outing for the Dynamite Van Pipe project brought to you by Paddy and Craig.
Paddy laid down the basic track in August '09, with his Epi Dot Studio and Ibanez GAX raging a torrent of pure rock, and then had it transmitted by the DVP satellite relay to the Linden, VA studio of of pop legend Tempie.
Communing with the book of heartbreak, Craig conjured words and sang them into a quantum microphone, tuned to 1978.
He then dusted off his Delta King to provide licks and nuance to the maelstrom.
The reslutant tracks were then beamed via microwave back to the UK for Paddy's vocals and mixing to finish this paen to the nasty yet gorgeous ladies we love to hate to love.

Lyrics
you're the kind of girl
that looks at her boyfriends like she's wondering
who should be my next boyfriend
i'm the kind of guy
you see as just a friend but i
would like it if you used me cause

there's just something about a mean girl

you're the kind of girl
that looks at your friends like
you are wishing
that they were someone else's friends
i'm the kind of guy
standing in line to be your friend
i wish that you would use me too cause

there's just something about a mean girl

Thanks man...
... this song, like "Nobody Will Ever..." happened organically. I send a groove to Craig and he starts work on a theme and lyrics. It all comes together in a transatlantic melting pot. We pushed the boat out here and it worked.

Mean girl...
.. Sheila are you a mean girl? LOL.
Thanks for stopping by. It's amazing what a modern kitchen appliance can do to words and music.

Guitars...
... yeah there must be six or seven guitar tracks on this in all! Plus at least 6 voices in the chorus. Craig and I are going for that 70's overkill. Who knows, maybe a rock opera next!

....
it's almost like southern rock got it's ass kicked and met up with iggy pop and was all like " hey stooge" and then hopped in a spaceship and destroyed a metor headed right for earth... on the way back there was a fade out....

in other words.....classic

F.A.B indeed. I always thought Lady Penelope was hot, in a kinda plastic way. She'd be the ultimate mean girl.
Thanks for the comments

queens of mean
another great song. there is some magic in the combination of your two sensibilities and talents. nice mixing and guitar twanging.
My favourite hook in this one is the little downward melodic thing in the lines "next boyfriend" and "someone else's friends". just a short moment but one that I want to go back and listen to over and over.
and thus it is downloaded.
thanks much!

Magic
.. there is true magic involved. I had to eat a toad and then run naked in my back yard. Craig told me he'd done the same but somehow I think he may have been having me on....

Craig has a way with a lyrical melody that's unsurpassed. I'm proud to be associated with his genius

Liked the movie
Love the song. A big time rocker with big time axe work. Great theme, too. I was always too afraid of all girls to pine for the mean ones.

Axe work..
.. I must confess to being a secret shredder and had to let it loose on this one. It's to my shame :-)
Mean girls aren't all that scary now, at 40. At 15 they were hot. Now they're just illegal!

you see timmy...
mean girls are easy because you know what you're getting. no room for disappointment. It's the nice girls that are a real horror.

A Kinky lifestyle
led them down to macjams.

I'm glad that the latest microwave technologies do not take out the sap of good old rock'n'roll mayhem and immortal song topics.

"Reform school cupid". Wouldn't that be a nice song title?
