Description
This is my poem in support of the Make Poverty History Campaign and which my dear friend Dave (ShadowsOrcas) put his music too. I was sincerely delighted when Dave offered to put his lovely music to this. So many children still today live in Poverty but nowhere more than Africa. A subject that means a lot to both me and Dave, we thank you for listening and I hope you enjoy mine and Dave's contribution.

Lyrics
It was on the news again today on the TV screen
I saw tears on their faces, why are people so mean
No roof over their heads and no food to eat
Families are starving, why is there no meat
Disease in every corner, there’s no where to lie
With no fresh water, their pain is making them cry
Their tiredness is so plain for us all to see
We all must do something, so please hear this plea
There’s plenty for everyone to go around if we share
But some people are so greedy and it makes me despair
We can all do our part by making our voice heard
To let this keep happening is outrageous and absurd
Governments are as much to blame for letting it get so bad
Wasting money on themselves, not their country makes me mad
How can they stand by and watch their own people starve
Whilst they are out living the hi-life, I bet they have meat to carve
Its not just one country, many are compelled to take part
Ordinary folk caught up in war and poverty they didn’t start
From all corners of Africa, Iraq, and so many more
Men, Women and Children sleep on dirty muddy floors
So if you can spare a little, no matter how small it be
It will help to build up that much needed money tree
Please help make POVERTY HISTORY and end these deathly fears
No one should live like this or suffer such tears
I saw tears on their faces, why are people so mean
No roof over their heads and no food to eat
Families are starving, why is there no meat
Disease in every corner, there’s no where to lie
With no fresh water, their pain is making them cry
Their tiredness is so plain for us all to see
We all must do something, so please hear this plea
