Description
Last night I watched Disney's EARTH. This morning I woke up to this composition. In one section of the film, a migration of birds (geese? ducks?) took them over the Himalayas. Astounding. ... I hope you will enjoy my own flight.

There you go again
just letting your hands go where your head tells them.... and thank God you do, when it results in something like this..... I'm practically floating with you as you soar at one minute twenty six. That lovely rhythm is definitely for floating to. Love it and all the lovely accompaniment, regards M

Soaring...
Wonderful piano line, and then when you come in with the orchestration, it is just wonderful. You are truly gifted in writing and performing. Thank you for this glorious music.

you work fast
there are some chord progressions in here that just make my heart melt. one of your great skills (in a long long list of great skills) is your sense of pacing. this has a beautiful gentle build. wonderful use of flute, pizzicato strings and horn, clarinet - each entrance and exit is timed perfectly. Beautiful. What a perfect morning song.

This is the kind of music...
...that speaks to my heart.
Just gorgeous. Nature has always inspired me in that I feel a Greater Love in it.
This is the kind of music I would write (had I your skill!). I'm just grateful that I don't have to write it--that I can simply enjoy it and feel inspired by it.

Thank you so much for sharing this (and allowing the download) and for posting it here.

This carries a sense of grace, wonder and dignity
I can really feel the birds as they soar, communicating as they travel together, climbing unbelievably high, doing what to us is wondrous and rather amazing. I wonder if other beings have a sense of just how special the world is.

This composition has such a lovely slow build, and an understated orchestration and use of dynamics, that with long floating phrasing it coveys the journey into the sparse air hugging the snow-capped peaks.

Another gem, another download for my PFP collection, and many thanks for your musical gifts to all of us.

Be well,
Doug

How could one
not enjoy this flight!? Every time you take to the keys you take us on a journey... this one as good as any other without a doubt.

I especially like how you mixed the keys with the orchestral parts. Very nicely done. Truly you are master!

So... okay...
Forget the Broadway musical (for the moment)... put the cabaret thing on the back burner... Go ahead... work for Disney.... Do their soundtracks... Why not?

Listen to this and stare at that photo... You'll see the mountains start to move under your wings... Really... Try it...

I have not
seen "Earth" yet but I really want to.This is so good it's ridiculous.Your skill at orchestrating behind the piano is stunning.Every note you play is deeply emotional. If you just rattled that off in a day... I don't know what to say!

There Are No Broader Wings...
than those of our imagination --- as is clearly on display in this piece.

Just as the film's sequence captured your imagination, your composition captures the simple, joyous fancy of Nature's children in flight in a way that perches listeners high above the earthbound realities we all endure.

Flight is one thing. I believe the gentle elements in this flowing composition suggest something even more exhilarating... ascent. Perhaps that was your true inspiration.

Another wonderful, lovely piece, Paul. ;)

Wonderful
As always, Paul.
I am every time impressed when I hear your tunes. Such warm colours of sound.

Simply wonderful.

My daughter (13 years old) asked me for your music.
She heard some of your tunes and asked me to burn her a cd from it...
And, what can I say, that's really rare...
She plays flute and enjoys a lot of music.
I hope she will have a macjams account soon, too...

Keep making music, thanks so much for sharing!

Take care!

Bernd

Goosebumps
This is about as good as anything I've ever heard. I love the animal theme and the picture, and the music is refreshingly uplifting -- perfect match. Magnificent. Is there any style you don't excel in? I know, heavy metal. I'm probably wrong about that.

superb
how can so much be expressed with one voice?
how can so many images be imagined with an ear?
after reading the notes, i did indeed see a bird - did indeed see it soar as easily as you play this piece. you and bird are on the same level - delighting in every turn and dip, simply taking pleasure in the joy of doing what you do best. the build blossoming at 3:45 was perfect. great job, paul - thanks so much,
anne
