Description:
12/17/04: This is a song that LillNisse (Johannes from Sweden) posted 2 days ago. I haved added a 2nd guitar part to his original song.

I sent Johannes an email yesterday with my mp3 attached and got this response, "Thank You! That was really interesting! Nifty work you've done! Never thought of it myself to have someone thousands of miles from here, co-playing with someting I put out of my little guitar and a computer at home just a day ago. Suddenly I realize that a world of new possibillities is already here. I love America for that (and for many other things too)."

I thought that was a good enough reason to post this song, which technically is not perfect (that is on my end).

God Bless us all!

PS I especially like these first notes you make; da-dida, di-dida… They really
adds to the tune. DS

The power of the Internet is just amazing. To be able to explore the wonders of music wherever our talent and the Muses lead is awesome. A little serendidipity once in a while is a nice thing too!

Johannes thank you for your great tune. I hope we are able to work together on another piece.

Mike, this sounds so much better than the demo you sent
me by e-mail. The extreme stereo separation has been
eliminated and Johannes' guitar is now in the same room.
Excellent jam! Very sweet, lyrical passages that nicely
intermingle. I hear cowboys humming along by a crackling
campfire in the twilight.

I know a bit of the story behind this collaboration. It was
cool how you took the initiative and surprised Johannes a
third of a world away.

Thanks, Richard.

I have not changed this mix. And I may send you the GB files in the hopes that your ear and software can do something with this. I don't have the patience to be a sound engineer.

That's odd. Somehow, the mix improved. Maybe my Sony digital amplifier is
to blame for the wonderful new mix. As I gaze upon it, I see it has switched
to "Hall Surround Sound". It's been flaky lately and switches settings on its
own. I always try to turn off the Sony deck's equalizer and surround sound
before putting on the Sennheiser headphones and giving a discerning listen
to a song.

Yes, go ahead and send me the files so I can recreate what I just heard!

I switched to my Mbox interface and put on the same Sennheiser
headphones. Now I hear the same extreme stereo separation of the guitars as
I heard yesterday. And, as described, more reverb in Johannes' guitar than
yours, Mike. So, something is intermixing the channels a bit when sending
the iTunes signal to Built-In Audio. Using the Digidesign HW (Mbox) sound
output device is cleaner. It's almost as if my G4's audio..or my Sony deck...is
doing that iTunes "Sound Enhancer" thing (which I always turn off). Oh well,
I'm boring the non-sound technician. Sorry.

Love this one. Very relaxing. Drifting, floating, gliding along the slow river of life. Sunshine. Gentle breeze. Chewin' on a blade of grass. Thanks for sharing.
