cool
i need to upgrade. really intrigued by what you did with the voice. outside of that the track is so cool, love the way you mixed that perky little keyboard line, with that murky guitar part (is that a guitar)? excellent. i can really see some zombies shuffling around to this.

cheers michael
i have had L9 since a couple of days after it came out...havent really explored it properly yet...playing with flex time was a 1st attempt. i have to say when i have done stuff like this in the past i have used the time stretching algorithms in soundforge...i found that my first attempt with flex in logic yeilded much more unpredictable results....but i like it
no guitar on this track...what i think you are hearing is a heavily effected organ...i think when this track first started to evolve, i was in the eno-nerve net - juju space jazz zone...
the zombie conversation seemed to be a perfect fit tho
drakonis said 65 days ago (September 21st, 2009)
zombies get a bad rap
they just don't make brains like they used to... but yours is a great brain! Wacky weird twisty stuff in the audio world there, Bryn... protect that brain! :-)
ttfn,
Drakonis

Dam People Next Door
These guys live next door to me. They are always walkin around their lawn holdin cell phones to their ears, and pretending to say things, but all they ever say is, "The zombies are starvin for brains..."

hi vic
thank you
i agree re your comments on the flex tool (lucky for us there is an 'undo' button)
more experimentation required methinks
lengold said 62 days ago (September 24th, 2009)
Always something
unique. Very interesting sounds and effects. Great production.
I've looked at the flex tool a couple of times but haven't been able to suss it yet.

howdy Len
thank you
i agree with you about the flex tool...on the surface its not intuative, but it was fun to experiment with it and get some random results...
i am sure there must be a more methodical way of using it tho that makes the results a bit more predictable

word
sounds like they have some sweet wavestretching algorhythms in logic 9. I do nicely with Ableton 6's field, but I would love to check out some new options... neat track, very cool vibe. post-80s

you do amazing stuff with ableton
i will have to give it a whirl at somepoint but it is so different to logic, the learning curve is steep for me

do you use ableton on mac or pc?

This is just strange enough
to peak my interest Bryn. You're one sick puppy, everything anyone could ever want in a man. only better.

Love this one, kudos

Zombies
This creeps along like a zombie - well done! Love the bass sound and the weird vocal sound is excellent - especially the end.

Brain Food
I like the brief synth riff that just pushed through the soil long enough to have it's head whomped off by some farmer with a machete. Too bad the farmer didn't see the other zombie....

Doug Somers said 25 days ago (October 31st, 2009)
So do we eat fish for brain food and brains for zombie food?
The supporting sounds around the synth riff give the otherwise bright rhythm a lumbering kind of quality like a zombie walk. And what's that slurping sound at the end. Actually, I don't wanna know.

Cool.
