Description
This song details a girl who exists "of the world, but not in it," opposing the Christian ideal of "in the world, but not of the world." The girl's name is Wren; she is the main character in my novel being written. The title of this piece describes Wren's disposition toward miasmic thinking, a formless and shrouded mindset – wise yet inactive, and therefore a fool. She dwells cravingly on the world and all it could offer, but takes no steps to grab those blessings. Wren chooses not to exist on that firmament. She treads on different ground that is firm only in its enslaving tug downward, like a mire. She is stagnant, yet never secure. Her feet cannot move of their own accord. Still, she has decent fun in the abyss.
If anyone's played Persona 3, parts of this may remind you a little of the music that plays in Tartarus.

despite the upswing in tempo. Nice way to build tension. Wren, an interesting name for one not of this world. Wren's condition is one that many of us (me) have to deal with on a daily basis. Knowing that you are a fool, nor does being intelligent preclude you from such a fate. One must possess the desire to have that which the world expects you to have. One can never be secure when the world is an alien place.
