ooh... nice!
Definitely got me swingin' in my work chair... excellent music writing, awesome sax and drum work, great mix, and of course the vocal embellishments make this drip with sweetness. Of course, at the end (3:27...) I would have liked to hear just a touch of humming or other vox floating over the otherwise overly-sparse piano work just to fill it in a bit, but a very minor point for a really delicious work!

Drakonis

swaying
This immediately got me swaying in my chair... It's noticeable a pro set up of musicians playing here. The vocals do lift this piece of music and my soul curl in joy every time they appear:)

Dorian eh?
At the start (and end for that matter), I thought it felt a little too synthetic. This piano sound didn't grab me at all - something about the tone and the perfect timing. Once your vocal started and the other instruments (especially the organ) came in it started to sound more organic, and much better listening. Would have liked a real bass in there though.
Strangely un-satisfying for me (but it's been one of those weeks!).
Cheers from Oz,
Neil

Let me re-phrase that
I'm sure I meant to say "stand-up bass in there".

Sound
Sound
I'm pretty much with Neil on the 'synthetico' quality. I'm certainly no enemy of midi, but I think the piano sound is uncomfortably straddling the line between the synthetic and (what I hear as) the desire to be organic.
In any case, the vocals are the real protein kick here: the song would be thin gruel without them. And those horns almost make the whole thing 'prog'.

Had to look
up 'Dorian Mode' - too clever for me.
Love the way this bounces along, but it's you vocal that makes it shine.
Cheers

I dunno....
Now that I finally got this to play, I like it... Just taking it for what it is, but I feel like I've heard a lot more artificial and synthy things than this 'round here...

I like the main piano line, and the swing meter...

And the Anne-has-fun-doing-dooby-ruby-day-vocals are both sophisticated/smart and a kick to the pulse... Fun to hear...

Horn harmonies are pretty cool, too...

Ruby day! That could almost become a new greeting...
