Description

A broken doll lies gathering dust in the corner of an antiques shop. Once the joy of a little girl's day, she no longer dances or takes tea, but perhaps she dreams of days gone by.

I've been working on this piece for a while and will probably continue to tweak it here and there.

This is very beautiful.
The SOUND of the piano you're using is what immediately caught my attention, because it is so evocative of the story you are telling. And the hesitations in your performance of this composition are just about perfect to convey the sadness of a discarded dolly who, nevertheless, HAS a memory of past glorious days. At 2:59 you make a wonderful transition..This whole thing is just so simple and so enchanting, unfettered by grandiose comment or fancy display. You've imagined this perfectly. What a pleasure to hear it.

poignant rollercoaster
Oh am I sucker for 3/4 sad waltzes... and programmatic stories with the music. I love the way you play the piano with rubato that shows us the doll get temporarily excited from memories, filled with hope, only to realize she is still laying in the corner... but wait, footsteps, will they find her here and play again? No, they left without even looking her way. You can hear this in the music. Brava!

I tried to post on my iphone but I made a mistake in typing on the iphone and things started looking chinese:) So I just got to my puter and and typing away. Love the concept picture with the music. Really loved how you wove them together is SUCH a delightful way.

Just had to immediately go and hear your delightful piece when it came up in the iphone.
