assembly call boogie -

Description
This is a piano solo in the style of Jimmy Yancey. It is still boogie woogie but with a more sparce -[for most of the time]- left hand. What I like about it is that the left hand patterns frequently change their meter and sometimes there are even elements of stride in Yanceys work, though only in short bursts and never for more than two measures. Jimmy Yancey was born in 1898 and died in 1851. When I became aware of this gentle man aka Quiet Papa, he had been dead for fourteen years. I have even written a song about him called 35th and Dearborn - which is where he lived in Chicago. Hope you enjoy this.

Thank you Karen
Glad you, being a pianist like it. It's just a bit of fun really adapted from the Jimmy Yancey stable. I always liked him a lot because he he had such a delicate touch and picked odd keys like Eb and Ab to play pieces like this in. Thanks again for listening and commenting.
