Googolplex Times Zero

Description
If I were ever to do a proper album this would be the first song. This is quite a natural tune for me. Meaning it’s not so forced and right in my comfort zone, lyrically and musically.

I’ve been sitting on this on for a while because I really don’t have that much on the backburner anymore. Son-of-lavalamp will surely be raiding my archives even more in the near future.

Posting this, I hope, will force me into making some new recordings. I have tons of songs I have written over the years, it’s just finding the time to put them down nicely (Which I don’t have.)

Lavalamp will return after this tune, but I don’t know when. In the meantime, if you see “Son-of-lavalamp” around, please give him a break and take a listen. He means well.

I hope you enjoy one of my favorite lavalamp songs.

Dave

Lyrics
Googolplex Times Zero

Watching the people pass on by
I know what they know
Sitting and listening just wasting my time
I know what you know

Listen to the church bells ringing
Hear the choir singing
I know what they know

Choose the left side of your mind
I know what you know
Have you left a little something behind?
I know what they know

I saw the Martians crying
About the Earthlings flying
They know what we know

Something is lost that you can’t get back
You know what I know
Caught in the circles of our past
They know what we know

Politics for hire
Running out of fire
I know what they know

Love the
Jazz rock feel of this in parts it's a bit like an alternative Seargent Pepper for me, with the slightly surreal arrangement, nice lyrics and good vocals,

I say you make that album
Record company or not, put 12 of your favs together for the greatest hits album.

The production on this is really good. The past two or three songs sound a lot cleaner. You mentioned you haven't really done anything different, which must mean your just getting better at your normal process. Cool aquatic rhythm guitar. How did you get your amp to work in the pool?

Your music is such a signature for you. Your guitar sounds are right out of the 60's, but your changes are not so predictable, nor are your lyrics. Let your lavalamp shine!
