Harbour Of Days Gone By

Description
Louise and I met in the late '60s when she booked me for her folk club. She was still at school and already a writer of stories and songs, one of which I sang to myself for years before recording it in 2008.
She became a prolific and successful writer of several series of fantasy books. You can find her website under the name Louise Cooper.
But songs were always close to her heart and, though shy, was a singer with a beautiful voice, accompanied by her guitar, and sang with a popular Cornish shanty group called 'Falmouth Shout'.
The photo was taken last year. 'Harbour Of Days Gone By', is the gentle and thoughtful song she wrote when she was fifteen. She was a gentle and thoughtful person who passed away 20th October 2009.

Great PPM Feel
This is indeed a very emotional song with glimpses of Peter, Paul & Mary. It's really sad to hear the news Ken and I could see you two have come such a long way together. Take care / Mike

It's strange how a song written when Louise was so young can assume a different feel in later times. It was her ability to see things from other people's point of view that made her such a good author. Thanks for writing, Mike.

Louise had many friends and a fine husband who will feel empty at the moment. All have very good memories and her books, I'm sure will continue to delight readers.

Such a heartfelt tribute...
Deeply touching song and a performance that had me holding my breath. Such a beautiful soul, and so nice that you knew her so long. Beautiful poem, written at 15? You carry it perfectly in music here, thank you for offering this to us.

Yes fifteen. It was only today that I realised what an early gift she had for words. Although bold in her stories she was reserved about her poetry and songs and, believe it or not, had forgotten all about Harbour Of Days until I sang it to her last year.

Thank you Roxy. Louise never boasted about her writing talents, she just got on with it. Her first novel was published when she was twenty. There are links to her web site and publisher from Wiki:
