Lyrics
I don't care who your mama is
As long as you got the funk
I don't care who your popa is
As long as you got the funk
I don't care 'bout the car you drive
As long as you got the funk
I don't care where you live
As long as you got the funk
As long as you got the funk
Got to have that funk
As long as you got that funk
You have to have that funk
I don't care 'bout nothin' else
As long as you got the funk
Live your life the way you want
As long as you got the funk

UUUUUUUUh

I don't care how you wear your hair
As long as you got the funk
I don't care if you got tatoos
As long as you got the funk
I don't care what color you are
As long as you got the funk
I don't care what bible you read
As long as you got the funk
As long as you got that funk
you got to have that funk
As long as you got that funk
you got to have that funk
I don't care 'bout nothin' else
As long as you got the funk
Live your life the way you want
As long as you got the funk

(at this point of the song .. someone gooses the singer again)

Well,
you aren't as verbiose as most rappers. I think you just liked saying funk, a lot. The beat is fine. Thanks, it was fun.

Thanks Stew.
I like the tune but I'm not sure of the "vocals" in this context. Glad you commented and liked it.

Vocals...
You could have *funked* up the vocals a bit, but then you run the risk of entering into Parody Land... y'q know what I'm sayin' ?

Funkadelic!
Oops, I guess that's a trademarked word. Well, how about funkalicious; or, funktastic; or even far funkin' out! Oh, it really doesn't matter, as long as you got the funk.
I'm sitting out a day of work today with a twisted ankle so I can't very well boogie to this, but next week....

That is me.
Too many years smokin' too many butts. When I got my voice to where I wanted it, I quit. :)
I started out in the radio business as a soprano but ended up sounding like this. :)

Thanks for the comment. If you have any radio commercials you want me to record, I do that too.

Cool Funk groove in a timeless kind of way. Tolerance is good and I like the metaphor that you have brought up in your thinking about the genre. Pretty cool

Everybody should like funk. What's not to like?
If I have to explain who James Brown and Clyde Stubblefield are to someone, he or she is not worth my time. ;)

I know my limitations and any kind of "singing" is way beyond my comfort zone. Glad you find it works.

Nope, doesn't suck. Cool bass and guitar lines right on target for the genre, good job mixing.
Vox work to deliver the lyric.

One of the coolest
basslines i have heard ever. So bad to the bone. Clicked on this link expecting it to be a bit painful from your description. The only white guy that can rap Ihave heard is Eminem. This is more george clinton funk than rap. great job on this. I would recommend you get a read drummer on this track. This song is worth spending a bit more time on. I would suggest tripling your vocals on this too. Some short oohs and ahhsin harmony in accent points would add a nice touch to it as well. Dude, you have something killer here. I would max that biatch out! Great song.
