Description

More old skool dub. I'm really trying hard to create that wonderful sound!

This is made from some reggae loops I've had lying around for ages; I can't remember where I got them from. I've dubbed them up some, using the DubStation AU and some of Logic's plugins. I also chopped up some Apple drum loops. The vocal samples came from Soundsnap.com. [Thanks Smokey!]

	Great sound Dave Merseyside Mud sounds pretty exotic from down here - it's all relevant :) Love the depth of sound you have here - could maybe do with some more variation, or a lead instrument/voice. Dub is all about bass really, great thumping bass. And echo/reverb on just about everything else! When you think about the equipment those guys used to splice up the sounds, [Tape, scissors, cellotape, glue, huge clunking echo boxes etc] and what we have available now, it makes what they produced all the better. Some astonishing sounds, that have inspired a whole plethora of electronica since. Of course, they also had the most incredible musicians making their "loops"! You should check out the genre, definitely. Get into it. Have a look at dub.com. Look out for some of the older stuff. Lee Perry, King Tubby, Joe Gibbs spring to mind.

The Merseyside mudflats, btw, are far from exotic!
