Description
My take on the Vampire myth - the darker, more Anne Rice types, with philosophical bents. Not loveable but one can empathize with them at times.
Created this in about an hour - laid down the tracks playing keyboards and some virtual instruments in GarageBand (though they actually came with Logic Studio), and laid down the vocal tracks (singing and speaking), then mixed in GB also.

Lyrics
The Vampire’s Lament
I walk the wild world
Alone
And forever
I see you passing
So quickly you pass
You pass
Alive one moment,
Gone the next
Not all of you turn to dust
Some of you linger
Spirits or
Memories
Bitter to the taste
The iron in your blood
Makes my teeth
Gnash
I remember other times
Other places
When my kind walked free
Now there’s only me
I walk the wild world
So not wild
You cross my path
Just a small child
A tiny morsel
A moment’s brief
Satisfaction…?
But I leave you be
Looking back at me
With those eyes
Those eyes
As if you can see right through me
Perhaps we’ll meet again
I walk the wild world
Alone
And forever
What I knew of your life
Is so distant
So unreal
To me you’re nothing more
Than a meal
A-ha- heh
Sometimes a plaything
I walk
The wild
World!
