It's Not Too Late

Description
I started this with the goal of creating the fastest bit of piano I could. Weird goal. I wanted to use the samples I had, in an unrealistic sense. I kind of got a techno vibe at one point but I lost that to an extent when I brought the brass in (I just can't stay away from that orchestral feel).

Anyway, I'm pretty pleased with this, though I might have made it longer. All the same, I actually finished it, and that's a rare thing. I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts on it, as I've completely lost perspective with it.

(I had a terrible time mixing this, so the volume might be a bit low overall.)

Bravo
Great Arrangement. I think it is the fast piano that makes this piece. The techno vibe may come from the booming Bass but I think it works pretty well. I know what you mean by losing perspective.

Re: johnnyblues
Thanks! Yeah that bass and the rather (intentionally) fake sound of the repetitive strings definitely creates the techno vibe. I thought about pursuing that a bit, but I'm happy with the direction I went. And that you thought the fast piano makes the piece... I must have totally lost perspective because I'd never expect to hear that. :) Very cool.

Re: scofugate
You're right, it could! I had a tough time picking the genre, as this piece goes a few places style-wise. So glad you liked it! It seems starting pieces out with piano, even just as a sketch, seems to lead to some good ideas from me. Good thing to realize going forward.

Enjoyed
it very much. I love how the more fragile piano blends with the other "harder" elements. I did have to turn it up a bit, but when I did, I liked what I heard very much.:)

Re: maxruehl
Neat observation about the piano. I'll make a note of that. :) Thanks for turning up the volume for a listen! Glad you liked it!

Thanks Feter! Very encouraging! :) Nice to hear you point out those low strings. Glad they were a highlight for you, and that you liked the unusual combo of sounds.

Awesome track. Very pro. I hear the drama in this. This would work wonderfully well in the right movie. Just a really well-crafted piece. Bravo!

Re: johnwhitehead
Wow. Pro? What a compliment! Someday I hope to 'go pro', so that's very encouraging to hear. Though the fact you hear drama is the best compliment. Always a struggle for me to create emotion in my music. I'm glad you, and those above found it well crafted. I must be learning something! Thanks for listening!

Michael, This sounds quite excellent and I can already hear it in a movie...building, building up to anticipation for the viewer. Sounds like you certainly know what you are doing arranging the samples and creating this piece. Only suggestion I have is overall volume and I hear in my head the piano part just a bit louder in the mix at the end (00:56 to 00:20). Maybe an ff to pp decreshendo. Love the single piano note ending.
