Hi everyone
So. It's been quite a while since I've been here and uploaded anything. One reason is that my sound-card broke. Twice. Which meant 2 months without it. So it's been a time away from recording and back to other things in a deeper way, which has been good.
This said, we're back ! We, being yours truly with a new piece that also stars Tom Devine on bass and Jay Hagen on flugelhorn - two fine musicians from over at iCompositions.
Leaving aside the fact that my sound-card broke as I was close to do its final mix, the making of it has been quite an adventure that took it's own sweet time. For instance. . . There's a long bridge in it where I invited Tom to do a solo, and I kept pushing him take after take - gently of course ! - to do better, feeling that he could. And he could indeed. Clearly. As for Jay. . . Well, I recall Tom telling me at some point, as I was waiting for Jay's track, that if it might take him a little time, he always turned up with something real beautiful. Was he ever right.
So I'd like to thank Tom here for his patience in putting up with what I somewhat heard and for fulfilling it with his inspired and sensitive playing - it's been a true pleasure collaborating with him, always.
And I'll also thank Jay here for adding his touch with those exquisite flugelhorn's lines, for taking the time to learn the theme and for his responsiveness to my own lines - it's been a real pleasure collaborating with him too.
For the record :
Tom Devine - Bass
Jay Hagen - Flugelhorn
Me - Acoustic/electric guitars
and guitar-synth.
Enjoy.
