Description
Here are the Theme and 1st variation for string orchestra. It's based on a piano piece I wrote and dedicated to the newborn child of a good friend of us. I am writing this piece mostly to study how to write for strings, but of course, always keeping the musical side in mind. On coming Friday my job will take all my free time so the other variations will have to wait till January 2010!

thanks...
it's going to be much longer and more variated, but this will have to wait till next year. It does give a Haydn feeling yes, but I believe that the sound itself, baroque like, contributes to this. The VST strings are for some reason, sounding almost without normal vibration. I am using Jam Pack 4, Orchestral here.

those variations will come, that's for sure. I already have the sketches of all of them. I just need the time to write them.

Lovely movement
and unexpected. Impressive work.

From about 2:23 it felt like it was about to take a fugue form but you controlled it very well.

I wish I could do that.

Cheers

Dick

thanks,
Thanks Dick, it's far from finished though. And maybe that fugue idea isn't so bad!

Patience...
...and love. That's what I hear in this piece. Beautiful as a newborn child and the loving parents to shelter the young one...

Andreas
Very nice. This one tickles the ears with all the different techniques. What samples are you using? sometimes it sounds like the jam packs but then other times no.
Just stretching your musical muscles eh?

It's really only the orchestral jam pack. And trying out some string technics, love to learn new things!
